Stiller and Meara created a sketch about the cleaning woman for the first Mercury space capsule - but Ed read between the lines! I will miss you Jerry!

I didn't care for Jerry's earlier comedy but when he hit Seinfeld and the King of Queens he was outstanding. As for King of Queens he's the one that made that show a hit.

With all the awful things going on in Hollywood over the years those two stuck together for over 5 decades, literally “till death”. They brought joy and laughter to millions and by all accounts were genuinely good people. In a world of Harvey Weinstein’s and Paris Hilton’s we sure could use a few more folks like Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. Like it or not much of our country’s moral compass is directed by what’s happening in and coming out of Hollywood and these days it’s more trash than anything.

An insight into the mind of Ed Sullivan. On the other hand, he had no problem saluting figures like Francis Spellman and William Westmoreland.

He was married to the same woman for over 50 years, until her death….in Hollywood. What a rarity, Jerry was a real treasure.

Ed loved to censor everyone.

@joesimon2018 You don't understand. In addition to being a television star, as a patriot Mr. Sullivan was intensely aware of his solemn duty to keep the mind of the American public clean and pure. That's why he saw shit everywhere he looked.

So it was about "shit" everybody caught on it was about shit but Ed ( pardon the pun) didn't think it was in good taste? That's what it sounds like to me.
