Phone call - Love it! That's the beauty of a great friendship/relationship that makes a marriage! I think COVID has caused a lot of folks to be have blinders on, not realizing how their actions affect others. Now, instead of saying excuse ME - I say excuse YOU! The reactions are amazing. Grandchildren are a Blessing. A relief for grandparents and gives the grandchildren a sense of worth and a lesson in saving. God said, "Until death do you part!" Amy - another great topic, thanks! Here`s a phone story for you: Living in Switzerland it is quite normal to commute on the train. Several times I have ridden and not only are the people talking loud on the phone but they hold it away from their ear and I guess, Have it on speaker because then you hear the OTHER person also talking!!!!! As an FYI Jerry, I do all the laundry, dishwashing, bathrooms, garbage duty and clean the kitchen. We live in an over 55 development in Delaware. It keeps me busy and active!

We live in OTOW which is close to the Villages, but smaller and same concept. We specifically moved here so that when one of us passes we have lots to do and lots of friends, way better than living totally alone with nothing to do.

My wife is 76 and she dyes her hair red. She was a beautiful red-head when we started dating long ago and she's going to be one forever. I like the gray head look but some of my hair is not gray. I'm 80. So you both keep doing what you're doing. You are a great-looking couple.

It’s advised not to move for one year after loosing a spouse. That way you don’t make a rash decision that you will regret. Of course, not everyone has the ability to wait that long, but I would think you should wait at least six months, if possible.

We once had a lawn service do our lawn (our lawn was admired by the neighborhood and was beautiful). Every time he cut the lawn he cleaned his blades because he said the weeds would just transfer to other lawns. He especially did not want that to happen to our weed-free lawn since he was the one who fertilized/treated it. Apparently the lawn cut before ours was loaded with weeds. So you could be getting your weeds from a prior homeowner who wasn’t so caring about a weed-free lawn.

A recent widower, I ran across your channel and enjoy seeing how the other half live! It's obvious you both enjoy meeting new people and enjoy all the offerings of The Villages. I recently spoke to a couple that just moved back to PA from Florida. Their reasons for leaving were numerous but the incerase in the amount of people and traffic were at the top of their list. Also, they said it was the incresed cost of living there. They commented that in the last year everything was increasing in cost and made it unaffordable for them to stay. Of coarse, they missed family and friends and decided to reunited with them instead of making new friends. It appears you are both loving The Villages. Certainly not for me as I love the changing of the seasons, I have numerous friends but most of my family has passed on. My friends have turned into family. I do understand that outgoing and active people probably thrive in your environment. I would not like the heat either. Where I live in NW Pennsylvania, we always have a nice breeze due to so many bodies of water around our area, most notably, Lake Erie. The winters have been very mild the past few years so harsh winters are (for now) not an issue. It's nice to know that you two are happy where you are at. Do you think you'll remain in that area as you get older? Are there adequate Senior services for those who have issues with mobility, stroke victims, and other disabling conditions to allow them to remain in their homes? Enjoy your life together, as we all know, as we age, time seemed to excellerate in nature. Jewel

I think in losing your spouse I personally think it would depend on where your kids lived how many friends you still had back home if you were a snowbird or a full timer? I just saw a video somewhere in Fl where a gator attacked a golf cart and that gator was huge! Linda you are right brown hair doesn’t grey well I stopped coloring a long time ago but I do get a toner on my hair every 5 weeks to even the grey and give me body ..

OH I LOVE VICTORIA AND JEANNINE (and not just because my name is also Victoria!) We have two daughters ourselves and will be retiring in the near future, thus more time in THE VILLAGES ... not just "visiting" our home there. Our daughters do enjoy the Villages as well and I just LOVED hearing and seeing the both of them! Paradise is also our closest regional rec center/family pool closest to us. Hi Jerry and Linda...just wanted to pass along that we have use Avon Skin So Soft Oil to combat no-se-ums and mosquitos. Just wet a wash cloth and place some oil on it.
