This video was extremely helpful. I believe I have cuboid syndrome currently, but I do not know how to tell if I need a cuboid plunge or whip. My foot does not hurt unless I am walking on it and the pain intensifies as I lift up from baring weight. I do not know the cause, as I did not have an injury, but suspect it was either due to running (which I normally do, and at a non-stressed pace) or I saw a new chiropractor the day before onset who adjusted my limbs (which is new for me). My pain developed gradually, mid-day (been walking around without difficulty previously in the day), over the course of about an hour or two before I started needing to limp. It's day 3 of limping and I find it easiest, less pain getting around by walking with my injured foot by pressing off with my toes. I'm trying to decide if I just need to give it time to heal on its own, try to whip/plunge myself, or make an appointment for a specialist (which will likely take a month to get in). Any advice?

Hi Christine, Because there is not a definitive cause it might be appropriate to get a formal x-ray which is read by a radiologist. Maybe start with your main doctor? Maybe an orthopedic consultation? The video is only somewhat informative, other videos I have posted on cuboid syndrome are a little more informative, showing the importance of restoring normal mobility of the navicular and talocalcaneal/subtalar joints when cuboid motion is blocked. If you do not get satisfactory treatment a quick trip to Denver might be worthwhile.

Thanks so much Mr. Hesch for the quick response! I greatly appreciate it. I had considered going to get an xray but I know that xrays only really look for bone fractures and didn't think that A)if I have a bone fracture (which my research says is unlikely), the likely treatment will be rest and non-load bearing, or B) it won't show tendons/ligaments that also may be the cause of the pain, and also likely treatment is rest and non-load bearing. I hope that this issue resolves on its own because I'm guessing it might take a while to be seen by specialist. And hey...if I'm still limping in a couple months, I might very well come visit you in Denver since I'll be traveling through anyway. ;) Your videos are very detailed and informative. Thank you again!
