But there are not only boys, there are also ladies. It is the most beautiful choir I have ever heard. And what I especially like is that white and black singers sing together in the most beautiful way. And André van der Merwe is an absolutely top conductor. When studying music at the University of Cape Town I sang for the Cape Town Youth Choir and met this choir at the choir Olympics in Austria. I was very impressed from that day on. Both choirs took some very vital victories that year. Great to see that people are still sing back home

What a Joy to find this through the power of the internet. Some seventy years ago, I was introduced to Afrikaner music, through the songs of Marais and Maria. Finding The Stellenbosch Choir while searching for more of their music has been a true blessing. A youngster from a small town in Pennsylvania found out that there is a whole world of music waiting to be sung and heard. Absolutely wonderful! I come from Ireland and many people love Ireland for it's green fields and nature.
