Yes to black door, sets off white. Sand off sharpie, or little artists are going to take it as a go ahead to colour in other areas. The doors are beautiful, start out all done perfectly.

Yes to a darker door, but don't forget the other photos it's BLACK on WHITE. Youvd got that natural wood trim inbetween. A very deep jewel tone might go better than black. Like deep maroon or very dark teal. Just not sure with the trim inbetween

If I could spend one day with any of the Duggar girls, it would be Jessa. She is the sweetest. I wrote to her once & I was having a rough time in my life & she actually sent me a personalized post card that made my day!! All of these choices are spot on!! I love the character on the cabinets & drawers. Definitely go with the black door. All of your greenery is going to look amazing in there. You are such a hard worker & a great Mama. I vote yes for the Black door. I also agree with others who have commented about sanding the cabinet door so it matches. Some day you may sell this place and you will be disappointed that you didn’t fix it. I love watching your updates. We recently had our kitchen remodeled. Including knocking a wall out. New vinyl floors downstairs except for the living room. It all turned out so nice. We still have to paint (color Silver Mine)everything but living room. Upstairs and hallway. I want to hire someone just to get it all done. We also had my bathtub converted to a shower. Love the new shower! And had the other shower in master bedroom redone. It’s Beautiful.

I'd do a black door, yes, but be sure to have a few other black accents on the outside to go with it. Maybe a black mailbox, black flower pots, black numbers for the address, etc.

I recommend sandind down the Sharpie door. Leaving it leaves the wrong message for the kids and future kids. I love you want to inclued their doodling in the decor but perhaps have them doodle on canvas then hang them somewhere they can admire their work. The house is looking very nice. Great job!

For the black door, it depends on which direction your house is facing. I installed a black door on the front of my house and I love it. My house faces N/NW, and the setting sun warms up my door immensely. It gets HOT to the touch in the summer months. Be aware of this for any wreaths or decorations you use on your door. Beautiful renovation. :)

Very true! We've had our share of melted wreaths and decor. I never expected hot glue to melt off my decor... in the DC region... in December. Doors that get a lot of sun are hot.

We originally did black but changed to red, it does heat bad. Maybe photoshop a red door. Mg house was white vinyl, black shutters and I got lots of compliments on the door

To remove sharpie marks, get a dry erase marker and go over the writing, then wipe it off, it will take the sharpie and marker marks right off.

I vote for painting the front door black! We painted our front door black several years ago & we actually had neighbors come knock on our door to say how incredible it looks! Black 100%! I would also sand off the sharpie marks!

These floors are the exact color we went with in our master bedroom. I've had mine done for 5 years. You'll love this color...dirt doesn't show as much on them like do on darker wood floors.

Black door- YES Your soul sister Sarah says hi as always. Tell Ben hi for me. We were all excited when you picked the flooring you picked. I think we all have the same exact taste in housing. I think leaving the fireplace there works great. The door is closed when you are inside in the winter typically, so it works but not in the way. Once you get all settled in, I’d love to make you guys a table with a touch of the house,Take a scrap piece of the flooring (if there’s any left) and incorporate it into the piece. Then the house will be a part of that piece forever. Kind of an entry type table or craft table for you/the kiddos. Can’t wait to see all this together. Love the light bright theme. ☀️☀️

Love the videos Jessa. You should stay in the cabinet door. That Sharpie Mark will come back to haunt you. Also the black door is very interesting and dramatic. But I would recommend midnight blue. It will give you the dark contrast but it's just a little bit happier. I had Midnight Blue Shutters on my white house and everyone loved it and commented how great it looked. And I mean neighbors that I didn't know came up to me and said they wish they'd done their house that way. You're going to love living in your new house. So happy for you.
