that 777-9311 drum pattern is so difficult. imagine playing it for 8-10 min straight too. shout outs to Prince, Morris, and Jellybean for mastering the art.

That drum pattern was done by a Linn drum kit ..it was program by some dude I can't think of his name But no one actually played the drum part to 777-9311

@@thepromiseman7745 it was the Tower Of Power drummer that programmed the original beat. However my initial comment wasnt to suggest it was a live beat during the original recording; it was to give props to the guys mentioned for mastering the beat for the live performances. Because they definitely mastered it for their live concerts.

Jesse aint lying either. SOOOOOO many ppl 'borrowed' things from Prince. Guitar riffs, vocal riffs, and other mannerisms too. In this case, Cameo was mentioned. And we love Cameo for it. But we know where it came from. :)
