@robertmcelwaine70245 жыл бұрын
@@PokemonTrainerVince There's definite truth there. I'm not necessarily opposed to marriage. People have a right to choose what's best for them but marriage doesn't mean for a minute that someone isn't going to stray. It doesn't make them anymore committed to a relationship either. Look at the divorce rate. And it's true that many women do abuse their alimony rights in court. Then there's also child support where they screw them out of more money than is really necessary. I wonder if all that money really goes on feeding and clothing their kids.
@PokemonTrainerVince5 жыл бұрын
@@robertmcelwaine7024 Exactly. 9 times out of 10 that extra money goes towards the ex-wife's wardrobe or her new boy toy. Our legal system is a joke. That lesson he learned from Arnold works both ways though, so it’s not the best advice. If the money’s right before you read the script, you’ll be predisposed to accept the script based on the money. You’re more likely to forgive a bad script. The end result is you star in a flop and it damages your brand. Then the offers become scarcer and the scripts start to diminish in quality and its a cycle that’s hard to break out of because in your desperation for literally anything you’re willing to forgive more and more and your scripts get worse and worse. That happened to A LOT of the action stars of the era and eventually it even happened to Arnold. He started to look at the paycheck first and the movies got bad. Smartly he shifted focus from movie stardom to politics at just the right time.

As a youngster Jesse was the first wrestler I adored. I always loved the heels and in the late 70s early 80s he was the best heel there was. Loved him as an announcer, an actor, a politician and a stand up honest guy. I hope "The Body" gets himself back into politics. We could use him.

He's been like that at least since the '70s for sure, especially when he was really high-energy. Rick Martel talked about it in an interview, saying Jesse used to do the 'bobbing' thing you can kind of see in this video, moving his torso back-and-forth frequently.

Yes, Arnold would agree with Jesse that it was his fault he knows he messed up all he can do is learn from it and grow. People like to see famous people make mistakes though it reminds them they are also human and that's why average people laugh when actors make mistakes. Truthfully it would be hard not to cheat in a world as Arnold lives in he has hot babes all the time want to bang him. Living in the famous rich lifestyle has its perks and downsides its simply the grass always seems greener on the other side.

He said he won't likely get together as friends because he lives in Minnesota and Mexico while Arnold lives in Southern California. Then he talks about siding with Maria on principle, because he thinks she should never have suffered what Arnold did, but he never says they couldn't be friends again because of that. Even Arnold admits he did Maria wrong, so it's not an issue.

Good point, although I don't need to know what happened if someone cheated. If they didn't that's one thing, but if it's confirmed, they're scum and I'll say it. Cheating is never right, never. There is not one scenario across the entire spectrum of human existence in which cheating on your spouse is okay. Never.

Jessie being very gullible here. Arnie didn't make Cameron or the studio wait for T2. It was the other way around. Arnie was always asking Cameron about a sequel over phone calls. And it's easy to turn down Predator 2 when you have a whole host of movies lined up, and already been involved in something like 14 movies. He was getting married at the time, but I'm sure if his future wasn't as secure in Hollywood as he would have liked, he would have snapped it up in an instant. Jesse believed literally everything Arnie told him. I'd say Arnie was laughing his ass off. "Nah Jessie, the timing wasn't right" lol

People don't know all of the particulars, either, like what was really going on in their marriage. Maybe she'd cheated too, maybe she had an ongoing disinterest in sex, maybe the marriage was hollow. This isn't offering excuses but mitigating factors can't be discounted remembering that we're all fallible.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if a substantial portion of the budget was given to Ventura. Lots of cheap movies are made like that: they spend most of the money on a recognizable name and little else. Also, his agent probably held the producers by the balls since they needed someone with fame and Ventura was the only one they could get ahold of.

Jesse is always available to talk about how awful someone is and how great he is. When a interviewer wants answers to something that he dropped the ball on he walks away.
