I nearly didn't do this because I got kicked out of ballet classes when I was a child. I ave cerebral palsy and they said I would hold the class back. But then I thought who is going to kick me out of my living room? LOL! Really loved doing the ballet. Even if it was in my own sweet unique little way! Keep dancing.

Hi Jessica Been meaning to write this now for long. I was 20 kilo overweight in jan and started by running with a stroller to loose it. Somehow after 2 months and 8 kilos down i injured my knee, and had to stop running. I got very upset cz that was the most effective way to shed pounds as i ddnt know how to swim and with a one year old finding time was difficult Its at that time that i found ur frst wrkout barre for bad knees and i went for it. And boy i loved it so much that i started doing all your barre workouts . Which helped me loose 13 kilos in 3 mnths and i have a toned body now. And i love to do your workouts, different ones every day. In fact my knees are also much stronger now with your excercises. I can feel it when i walk. So really thanks thanks a lot for your workouts.

I like this video for so many reasons. Here are a couple: 1. I don't feel like a total oaf doing this workout. (I came here after my workout on Blogilates) 2. You're so encouraging and remind me that I don't have to be in perfect tempo or have perfect form to get a good workout. 3. Ballet in general encourages a strong, open posture. I will! I finished this workout for the first time today, and I was SWEATING. OH MY GOSH, was I sweating. Haha. Anyone who underestimates ballet is a fool and needs to try it for themselves! Haha. It's amazing how the moves I learned in ballet as a child are still there to use (though they're rusty), kind of like getting on a bike after a long, long time.

I first tried this workout a year ago, trying to get back into physical activity after having my 2nd baby. I had to take MANY breaks. I've revisited it a few times since then, but today (baby is now 18 mos old and I've been working out consistently for 5 months) I finished it with EVERY level up, never taking a break and after 5 min. I feel like I could do another one so I'm going to go jump on the trampoline with my kids. Thanks for your workouts, love them.

BC Day 13 I like barre workouts, because they are not so fast, they dont include too much jumping, no pushups or burpees and they are very graceful, but it is also very difficult to keep the body tension for the whole time, to keep pointing the toes and the arms get so incredibly heavy although you are not using weights...

This is an incredible workout. It's the first time I've ever done ANYTHING ballet inspired. I was feeling the need to do something new so I googled "ballet aerobics". And I'm very pleased I did. The instruction is clear and easy to follow. The moves are simple enough for a stone cold beginner like myself. I'm a 51 year old yoga dude. This was just what the doctor ordered. I love the variety in your workouts, Jessica. One of my pet peeves is instructors who do two or three exercises and then continually repeat them for the whole video. Your exercises are always fresh throughout the whole workout, which keeps me from being bored. And seeing Peanut is always a perk!

I have been working out with you for a year and a half. I had shoulder surgery and surgery to repair a torn tendon in my foot eight weeks ago. I have been cleared to exercise, and I knew I could return to the routines I love with you, and that your encouragement and happy attitude would keep me motivated, even though it is discouraging not to be able to do what I had been able to do before the surgeries. Thank you for being so wonderful! I did the whole workout, although it was not completely graceful! My shoulder strenuously objected to Swan Lake arms, but I told it you were the boss! :-)

I'm grateful I found your workouts on YOuTube because I had to stop working out with my weights and running and swimming. I had an injury in my arm. Sports doctor made me stop with my previous work out routine. This barre workout allows me to work out my entire body without aggravating my arm but still working out my arm. Thanks for posting!

Decided to do this today as a cardio add-on to Day 30. I'm finishing 2014 with the workout that started my Jessica Smith Journey! I'm sweating still, of course (ouchie to swan arms and demi pointe plie pulses with shaking/vibrating thighs!) but my heart isn't beating out of my chest likr it used to. You've inspired me to actually take regular intermediate lyrical jazz classes again in 2015 because dance is that part of my life that just won't go away. I feel like I need it to breathe. Plus it will help me beat my social anxiety and work out with other people instead of hiding alone at home. Thank you AGAIN and AGAIN, Jessica for everything you've done and do for me!

Worked out all week with both your walking DVDs, and today decided to check out KZbin since I completed the round of workouts for the week. Cardio boot camp boogie on KZbin has become a favorite, but saw this and had to try. Wow, did I work up a sweat and my heart rate! It snuck up on me, you always know how to pack a punch! I loved this, the challenge of it, the unique moves all combined with ballet! It was great! So fun and enjoyable. Thank you!

Jessica!!! I LOVE this workout! I was never a ballet girl when I was younger (I wasn't deprived of dance lessons-- I was just a tomboy who did gymnastics, played soccer, basketball & softball!), but over the last couple of years I have been falling in love with ballet (saw the Moscow Festival Ballet do Giselle in Detroit this summer and just about DIED). I have been trying different ballet workouts and, as a beginner, yours is my absolute favorite! The moves are very challenging physically, but not so intricate that I can't do them (and I even feel somewhat graceful while doing so). I also really appreciate you throwing in some ballet jargon as we go, as I am loving learning all things ballet. Keep up the wonderful work. And Peanut should get a raise because she is workin' it OUT as a supervisory pup! Bravo!

Wonderful workout! I've joined classic ballet class for adults a few years ago and experienced so much difference in my muscle tones and overall posture, but it could get boring sometimes lol. Jessica's cardio ballet definitely adds to the traditional an extra bit of spice when you need a variety.
