Oh, I just want to say that turnip is my favourite vegetable..my late mum used to make this amazing stew (an old recipe from her Bedouin north African mother).. it has diced turnips, dry, shelled and desiccated broad beans, tomatoes, hot chillies, lots of herbs and spices especially cumin, then thickened with a bit of flour or rice flour if can't eat wheat like me..it's so aromatic and so delicious my comfort food in late autumn and winter. 😁😋

@@JessieatPlot37 it's a family recipe, according to my late mum it was created by her Bedouin great grandmother who passed it on to her daughters..they even gave it a name😄....I forgot to mention you need to use garlic,3 or 4 big cloves....and the green tops of the turnip 😁..my mum used to add mincemeat sometimes but it's optional..and once it's cooked don't forget to add a heaped teaspoon of ground dried mint leaves, oh my my, it's just devine. 😋💚

But on a sunny day there’s no where better to visit. Everything looks fantastic and lush still though which is nice. End of summer tomorrow but sunny as all get out today. I’ve put in some Dulce broad beans today as an experiment I’ve never brown “over” winter beans before this so will be interesting. As always thanks for sharing ✌️🇨🇦🐝 safe

@Albinojackrussel3 жыл бұрын
In the UK our winters are much milder than in the Czech Republic because we're so costal. Our lowest temp ever was -27, you guys got to -36 last year. So Jessie's advice migt not apply to you sadly :( That said I know you can wrap plants in fiber or things like bubble wrap to help keep them warm in winter.
