I’m a Tibetan living in Kathmandu. Tibetan Buddhist community live adjoining to Nepali Hindu communities. For decade both communities faced immense missionaries forces from Christians. Fast forward today most of our adjoining Hindu Nepalese have converted to Christian, once when there was not a single church today there are around 20 churches. But guess what not a single Tibetan Buddhist converted to Christianity. Christians can convert entire Nepal but Tibetans will protect & promote Buddhism ☸️ & take to west !

I would have assumed the same 15 or 16 years back until I personally came to know Tibetan christians in Kathmandu. There are Tibetan Christians with prayers in Tibetan language and christian songs in proper Tibetan language. The Tibetan Christians I know are not even just layman Christians. They are at Pastor's level. So, I would assume that you haven't tried to study on that side of Tibetan community. And, maybe it's also because they are not that open about their religion when they are among other Tibetan people.

An extremely desperate attempt, the last straw if you will, to convert ( dare i say lure?) the "bhotay" (using the term loosely here, as for even the locals of other ethnicities it is inclusive of all the people of Tibetan culture, i.e, Sikkimese, Tibetans and Drukpas) population to the Gospels. Then again, this structure may very well be the only one (in its concept) in the entire world. So, looking from that point of view, it's something that we as Kalimpongeys should cherish, appreciate and preserve.

Jesus was an Enlighted being therefore a Buddha ... this is the logic behind that reasoning
@dawagensapa6885Ай бұрын
@@gilliandarling9239 I absolutely agree with you on that. Jesus was indeed an enlightened being. Just a teeny tiny difference/disagreement between these two philosophies is that Buddhists acknowledge the past existence and the possibility of existence of a future Buddha ( because everybody has the capacity for enlightenment), whereas in Christianity does not acknowledge the "other Buddhas", and there is no scope or possibility for any future Buddhas. That is what I understand with the basic knowledge I have of Christianity.
@dawagensapa6885Ай бұрын
@@TigerWang1101 I agree with everything you said, your accomodating attitude towards Christian ideology..and I think it's a good start towards achieving religious harmony, albeit everyone should have the same point of view. I however have to humbly disagree with someone dying for my sin. It absolutely and completely goes against core Buddhist principle of Karma. A true Buddhist believes in cause and casualty. He believes that he alone is responsible, and accountable for his actions. In contrast, a Christian believes in the all saving might of God. That if he/she puts his/her belief in this God, he/she will be saved (from eternal damnation I believe). This does not sit well with how I reason. I hope you excuse me for adding my two cents here. I really do not mean to be rude.
@dawagensapa688529 күн бұрын
@@TigerWang1101 Thank you for sharing your profound experiences and your thoughts on the intersections of Buddhism and Christianity. It’s always fascinating to see how different beliefs can provide comfort and guidance in our lives. However, as much as I appreciate your attempt to find common ground, I must humbly point out that Buddhism and Christianity have quite different core principles. Christianity, for instance, is quite clear about the uniqueness of its path to salvation..it's not exactly known for being open to mixing and matching philosophies. I suspect that if you tried to introduce karma or reincarnation into a Sunday sermon, you might get a few puzzled looks, or worse, a concerned visit from the pastor! (pun intended). I also respect that your near-death experience with Jesus was life-changing for you, and I wouldn’t want to diminish that. But as a Buddhist, I’m more comfortable with the idea that we are each responsible for our own karma, and that no one, not even an enlightened being like Jesus can carry that burden for us. So, while I admire your passion and your journey, I think we might just have to agree to follow different paths, each to our own "target," if you will. After all, it’s the diversity in our beliefs that makes conversations like this so enriching. Thanks again for the discussion, and for giving me some food for thought. 💐

Buddhism existed in Tibet since the days of Emperor Ashoka when he sent monks there in 200’sBC. Buddhism did not become an [official state religion] until the 600’sAD. Geography is also important. The region of Ladakh is where ‘Jesus’ went for his studies, this region was first to become Buddhism long before Lhasa due to its proximity to Greco-Buddhist Kingdoms of Bactria, Bamiya, and Gandhara. Kabul Afghanistan and Anuradpura Sri Lanka were the Medina and Mecca of their time. That said, the historical Jesus is King Izates II, the ‘Izas Manu IV’ of Edessa/Osorene. His twin brother Judas (St. Thomas) was often conflated with him. Izates/Jesus was the warrior, while Judas/Thomas was the healer. Izates/Jesus was defeated by Titus, crucified, survived with the help of Joesphus, then exiled to Britannia by Emepror Vespasian. During this expulsion Judas/Thomas made his way to Malabar India and then Anuradpura Sri Lanka where he established re-established the House of Essenes. This would later evolve into the Nestorian Monastery which was then absorbed into the Assyrian Orthodoxy by 400’sAD. While Judas/Thomas went to India in his later years, it’s not certain of Izates/Jesus did in his younger years as the two individuals stories were conflated. It is possible that, as heir to King, he will have advanced studies occuring outside of the Kingdom. Either Izates or Judas studied at the Re-Atum school of Energy at Heliopolis, upon which they were initiated as a Twice Born in the Kings Chamber of Giza during a [3] day ritual. After which he was instructed to go to Ladakh to complete his training. It’s possible that this may have been Izates/Jesus himself, but it’s also likely that it was Judas/Thomas. In any case. Neither of them have anything to do with early Chrisitans nor modern Christianity. Early chrisitans were the work of Jospehus after the collapse of the 2nd Temple. Modern Christianity is Imperial Rome turned into a Church:

Not even 1% does it make sense. You don't even know about Jesus Christ of Nazareth.😂 This hindu, bhuddist muslim, and Christian has nothing to do with Jesus. He came to fulfilled the prophecy in Torah and to gather all human being together with the Father or to Him.
