As a historical 7th day adventist, we reject the Trinity and the doctrine that Jesus was a creation or an angel. Begotten does NOT mean created in this context. It means being born or brought forth and is uniquely attributed to Jesus/Michael. He is the only being that was not created nor adopted and yet neither did he 'always' exist. Jesus is of similar substance, meaning just as divine as the Father's substance, yet he is a separate person, namely a 'literal' son. This was the orthodox view before the last church being in Rome fell away into apostasy by means of redefining the natures of God and His son and Sunday Rest/Worship. Creation do NOT create but the Father created through Jesus just as he does everything else, Jesus words not mine. Arius has often been accused of claiming that Jesus was a creation by taking the position that He was of a similar substance, which really meant He was a separate being/person. The Trinity was making its headway during this time. So JWs, take the erroneous position by accepting the revision of the definition of monogenes meaning unique and created while ignoring the fullness of its meaning to be 'begotten' or born from of its kind. Well Jesus was unique in the sense that there is only one other kind like him. And that is His Father. The other extreme position is the Trinity which classifies Jesus as GOD the SON, NOT the 'only begotten'. Three in one is more of a heresy than believing that Jesus was created.. A lot of what JWs is true however they fail to understand that Jesus had a beginning by being born, NOT created. No where in the bible does it say he was created. But it does say he was begotten which is another concept. This is their fatal flaw. JWs came out the same movement that SDAs came out of and parted ways on these two and other biblical doctrines they fail to accept because they really don't fully investigate origins and study with the method of interpretation. They also use a bible that is directly from the erroneous hellish manuscripts from the Vulgate of Jerome. KJV isn't perfect and it does have grammatical, some additions or perversions like the Comma Johanna, and some minor mistranslations but it is by far the most accurate. Rome did attempt to pervert the Textus Receptus but any diligent study will reveal the truth in all of this. Jesus asked Peter who he thought he was. And he answers by saying that you are the Son of the Living God. Jesus then says that no flesh has revealed this to you but God only. I don't think Peter believed he was a creation that became the saviour. A creation cannot atone for the sins of breaking a divine law. You need a divine subject to be an acceptable sacrifice once and for all. This is a crucial understanding for salvation comes by you accepting and believing that God the Father sent a divine Son. In order to be saved, believe He is who the Father and the Son say he is.....the Only Begotten Son of the Father.

The JWs believe that, prior to His birth to Mary, Jesus Christ was an Angel. This clearly goes against a fundemental point that the writer to the Hebrews makes. It is also a misunderstanding of the term Son of God. Angels and Gods servants are referred to as Sons of God, but in John's Gospel we are told that Jesus was 'the only begotten Son of God'. We are given that privileged title, but Jesus uniquely was literally the Son of the Father. The JWs make a grave mistake. Jesus Christ was not God the Son, neither was He a pre-existant being before His birth to Mary. No, I am not a Unitarian.

The Trinity came to be in 325A.D. under Constantine in the counsel of Nicaea. Research this. Also in the 16th Century when the first English translation of the Bible was done by a scholar from Greek manuscripts a verse supporting the Trinity was not added because it wasn’t contained in the earlier Greek manuscripts but was only found in later Latin translations. This scholar was coerced into adding that verse but he refused unless the Catholic Church could produce a Greek manuscript supporting it. The the church then had scribes copy out the Greek text and added that verse into it and handed it to the scholar, who then felt obligated to add it to future English translations. This was the birth of the false doctrine of the Trinity in modern times.

When man was created, and God said, let us make man in our image us refer to himself and his son Michael the first creation before anything else. Michael’s human existence, as Jesus makes perfect sense as God has placed him on his throne to rule his kingdom once this system ends.

Jesus, the Son of God, does not have a metaphorical sonship. He is really the only begotten Son of God, and that is not a diminished position to the Father. I didn't understand the doctrine of the trinity either for quite some time, but I perservered with my own studies and now I realize that it fits perfectly with what scripture teaches us. @@pthiannun07 Jesus is referring to the works his Father is doing through him. He mentions this first to the Jews who wanted to stone him in Chapter 10 of John, 10:37-38. It's by evidence of the works that we know the Father is in him, that is how to see his Father: healing of the sick/crippled/deaf/blind etc, raising of the dead, multiplying of bread, walking on water, stopping storms and so forth. Seeing that power at work is to see his Father. "If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” - Jesus, John 10:37-38 He again mentions this to Philip, in the verse you reference. Philip misunderstands and says "show us the Father", but Jesus responds to him saying John 14:10-11, basically the same thing he told the Jews who wanted to stone him: "Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the work, believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake." - Jesus, John 14:10-11 This is important to understand, because right after saying this to Philip, Jesus defines what a "believer" is: that they will do the same works if not greater than he, because he is going to the Father, John 14:12-13 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to my Father. And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." - Jesus, John 14:12-13 So those who believe in Jesus will have the power of his Father within them, doing similar if not greater works - and if we keep his command and ask in his name(his name meaning to save from sins) we will then obtain the spirit of truth, which is required to worship his Father at all, indicated in John 4:23-24. "If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the SPIRIT OF TRUTH(required to worship God, John 4:23-24); whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not(works, they do not see his Father's power), neither knows him: But you know him; for he dwells in you, and shall be in you" - Jesus, John 14:14-17 And to confirm that Jesus is not referring to himself as God when he says if you've seen him, you've seen the Father, Jesus said the following about NOT seeing God his Father: "And the Father himself, which has sent me, has born witness of me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape." - Jesus, John 5:37 "Not that any man has seen the Father, save he which is of God(John 8:38), he has seen the Father." - Jesus, John 6:46 (John 8:38 "I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and you do that which you have seen with your father." - Jesus, John 8:38) ((And to take it a step further, Jesus mentions experiencing existing before the world was finished in the presence of his Father in John 17:4-5)) I hope this helps and isn't that much to read, it's really a lot more compact than it appears. Knowing all of these things brings the true meaning to how the holy spirit/comforter functions, but also brings full clarity to John 10:30 where Jesus said him and his Father (two) are one (unity of two), or greek word "heis" which may indicate a unity of two. Jesus in John 10:30 foreshadows the Father doing the works within him. The Jews picked up stones to throw at him when he said they were one because they misunderstood thinking he was trying to make himself God(a mistake people commit to this day, thinking he is God or trying to make himself God), but Jesus instead references Psalm 82:6 and corrects them, reiterating soon after "I am God's son" to them, in John 10:36, which of course flows into John 10:37-38 where he refers to the works as evidence of his Father even if they for some reason do not believe him, the son.

Jesus ALWAYS pointed to the Father. Jesus was the Word (john 1) and became flesh, and dwelt among us. Those of Jesus time saw the closest thing to God that a person could see. Its because yes those books are written accurately yet those authors all had a less revelation of who Jesus really was. remember when Jesus asked them who do you say that I am? they all were different saying what others thought but Peter was (close but no cigar), Jesus pointed that it was by divine power and not by men guessing. The entire new testiment gives clues to the Mystery of Jesus, there is even a book called REVELATION that tells us who the Alpha Omega is in the last chapter, Jesus said I AM.

When the American Standard Version was produced in 1811 one thing that stood out was the restoration of the name Jehovah in 6828 places in the Old Testament. This Bible received a lot of criticism for doing this. So how did the committee address this matter? They later came out with a "New" translation which was essentially the same Bible but they removed the name Jehovah from the 6828 places where it occurred in the original version. All the opponents of Jehovah were satisfied with the change.

There are about 760 verses in the New Testament which clearly declare his SONSHIP and human nature. He had to be a man to be a second Adam (Romans 5). We are gravely warned about getting Christ's identity wrong in the 1st epistle of John and none of the warnings refer even once to his supposed "deity". Go figure that one out! People who think the "deity" of Jesus would not be clearly stated explicitly in the New Testament epistles especially if it were true does not know Jesus or God. In the book of revelation John bowed down to an angel, but rejected the worship and told him to stand up. While with Jesus, many of His disciples bowed down to Him in worship, and even those He healed. But then He never told anyone to stand up, and not worship Him, as He received them all. If you receive Jesus as Prophet, why did He never told anyone to stand up and not worship Him? He even said that Moses wrote about Him. Why did He not correct anyone to not bow down to Him if He is truly not God? Why did Jesus allow Himself to be worshipped?

The word "God" and "Allah" is just a common term for King and sometimes for "Lord". In the old testament, Jesus is the Prince ( the Son of God). He was there with his Father in the beginning before all creation. However, Jesus was sacrificed by the King to "reciprocate" Abraham's loyalty in wanting to sacrifice his most loved son. God could definitely reward him more. God sent his only son to save the world! But we must believe in them (Father and Son) to be saved by their grace! After resurrection, Jesus is crowned as the new King (God) to rule over Heaven and Earth. But his father is still greater than Jesus. Upon his resurrection, Jesus had announced to his disciples to reveal to the world of his coronation as the new God (King) as his father the King had transferred all his power and everything to him. Your comment supposes Thomas was addressing Jesus as God. He was making an exclamation. Your appraisal of that verse is in contradiction of two crystal clear statements make. I hope they are not lost on you. “And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.” - Mark 10:18 If Jesus was God, he would have accepted the title, but he deflected the title of good back to God. To accept one verse and reject the other is to suggest that the Bible contradicts itself, which it does not. Therefore the understanding of one must be incorrect and the two must be reconciled. Considering that Thomas was the one to say those words in surprise and that they were not spoken by Jesus himself says all that we need to understand that verse. Well, the Bible teaches us that only the father most high knows when the last day shall be. It says not Jesus nor the angels will know when that day shall be. So I can't see where Jesus is God. Just like I can't see that when you die you go to heaven or hell. Especially when the Bible teaches that none of that happens until your resurrected. So.... If the Trinity were true for all of you Trinity believers out there... Then Jesus, the father most high and the holy Spirit would all know when the last day shall be for mankind. But yet the Bible tells us only one knows, and that's the father most high. The Bible tells us that Jesus is our King, not God, he is the son of the father. For instance nobody was there when Jesus prayed to the Father in the garden , they were all asleep but we believed the made up grieving prayer about not taking this cup. Jesus never said that. Many disciplines were still learning who Jesus really was. The Priests agreed he made himself out to be God. If you read the Revelation it says who is King of Heaven and Earth. Christ is truly God, and there are no degrees of deity / divinity. God is eternal, cannot ave an origine outside Himself and cannot die. The whole Bible withesses for Christ’s Godship. Take, for example, Exodus 3:2, 4, 14, or Isaiah 9:6; Rom 9:5; Tit 2:13; John 1:1; 20:28; Heb 1:8-10; 2:Pt 1:1. The New Testament authors, as well as Jesus and His apostles used the title SON OF GOD as an equivalent to CHRIST (THE ANNOINTED KING), according to Psalm 2:6-7, where the annointed King (Son of David/Messiah) is adopted by God, throgh that statement: ”Thou are My Son, TODAY (not before ages!) I have begotten Thee”. The sonship of Christ is nowhere described in the Bible as a biological relationship to God, but only as a deep spiritual relationship. Gabriel told Mary that her son will be CALLED / NAMED the Son of God / of Most High (Luke 1:35), not as if He were physically.the Son of God. Jews, Samaritans and even demons used this title (Mk 14:61; Lk 4:41; Jon 11:27), to mean nothing more than Messiah. In no case could these people imagine a physical birth of Messiah from God, as a God born of God, because the Old Testament, the only existing Bible at that time, had nothing to say about a physical/metaphysical birth of Messiah from God. The literalistic-speculative reading of the Bible is often a real curse. Anti-Trinitarian believers trust too much in thieir own reasoning, thinking that Trinitarian must be either stupid or malevolent / apostates. They want to simplify the truth about God, but they end up amputating the truth, since there is nothing like God, to be reasonably compared. Let God be God, as paradoxical as He is in His Oneness, in His Threeness and in His functional Trinity.

Thus any bible translations that slant the words to promote a manmade doctrine cannot be th basis of a Christians faith! Eg; 2 Pet 1:1,2. Some quote this to claim "Jesus is our God and Savioir". However the ORIGINAL GREEK reads "Of the God and of Jesus the Lord on us" TWO seperate persons! NOT one!. Thus more honest translations read; KJV " God and our Savioir Jesus Christ" New KJV "God and our Savioir Jesus Christ" ASV "God and the Saviour Jesus Christ" Websters "God and our Savioir Jesus Christ" Aramaic "Lord and our Saviour Jesus Christ" Weymouth "God and of our saviour Jesus Christ" Worsley "God and of our Savioir Jesus Christ" Thus to translate it " Our God & Savious Jesus Christ" is misleading and not the correct translation from the greek. It is of not benefit to us to base our faith on the 'word of men' men who have IMPOSED their doctrine on their bible translations. The discovery of early & earlier MSS's has facilitated a REFINING of the NT text and eliminating a host of ERRORS & INTERPOLATIONS. ( 1 John 5:7 is a prome example!)

AW Pink in his book, "The Attributes of God" says the following regarding the nature of God: "There are three things told us in scripture concerning the nature of God. First, “God is spirit” (John 4:24). In the Greek there is no indefinite article, and to say “God is a spirit” is most objectionable, for it places Him in a class with others. God is “spirit” in the highest sense. Because He is “spirit” He is incorporeal, having no visible substance. Had God a tangible body, He would not be omnipresent, He would be limited to one place; because He is “spirit” He fills heaven and earth. Some Christians who have embraced "Trinitarian" theology suffer from cognitive dissonance. You cannot hold two competing theories in your mind and believe that they are coherent and consistent. Yet through a series of logical fallacies and mental gymnastics they endeavour to do so. And yet the scripture does not support their mental trickery. God is spirit. Numbers 23 says that God is not a man and he isn't even the son of man. This is a striking comment because that is exactly what Jesus Christ is repeatedly called. Since Malachi declares that God does not change, he will always be spirit and never be a "man." Even Christ Jesus to this day is called the "man" Christ Jesus who is the mediator between God and men in 1 Timothy 2:5. Discussing the Trinity with Christians who are convinced of it and don't want to listen is an exercise in futility. Because a lot of what people believe is not based on logic per se but emotion. So logical arguments just won't work. They have "eyes" that see not and "ears" that hear not. When you are speaking about God and spirituality this goes double. People are convinced that their moral goodness is attached to this belief system. So to give it up, to them, is like turning their back on what makes them good and moral people.

The Tetragrammaton is made of four Hebrew letters, but the 3rd letter is not a "w" but a "v" or rather a Vav in Hebrew. Undoubtedly, the "w" that most American theologians pronounce in English comes from the fact that German Theologians used that name as spelled in German in their scholarly writings. But the "w" is "v" in German! Is it Volks Wagen or Folk Vagen. Everybody pronounces the Tetragrammaton as Yahweh. But Jews don't say the name ever. I understand that a 12 Century priest produced the crude name "Jehovah" by conflating the consonances from the Hebrew Yud Hay Fav Hay with the vowels from the word "Adonai" (Ah Doh Nah) which means "Lord"! Rabbi Theodore Falcon of Seattle brought this fact to light. Dr. Martin makes the point that we don't really know how to pronounce that title which means something like "I am that I am..." the majestic name of God represented by the verb "To Be" past, present and future tense and to the end of Time..."

His life started when he was born to the virgin Mary, a man who died for our sins. To which of the angels said he at any time, thou art my Son this day have I begotten thee. The answer is none. Jesus is not a pre-incarnated angel, hes a man begotten from a virgin and the firstborn from the dead. Jehovah God, the Father is the creator.

But the Son of God is God. He was the Word of God Who was God before being incarnated to be the messenger of God who was a man. Read John 1:1,14. The passages you are quoting are passages about when Jesus took upon Himself to be a servant for you and me. Read Phil. 2:5 going. If you care to know. there is only One God residing in three personalities; The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Read Matt. 28:19-20. Even the Jews Jeaus spoke to understood that Jesus was saying He was God before coming to the earth. No b John 17 where you are quoting was Jesus at work as a messenger directing the Jews who had deviated from the One True God back to the One True God. Jesus’s Godship is not a title but His nature. When He said I and the Father are one. Brother Find the whole counsel of God about who Jesus was before coming to the earth feom tue New Testament because the Old Testament will not help you. Read 2 Cor. 3 to confirm this.

That means no beginning and no end - and - now I say - two years ago - God was God - and today I say God is God - and 1 million years from now God will still be God - then it does not matter if I say God was - God is - and God shall be. The time that the Apostle John was writing about - which was in the beginning (from our perspective, that is in the past) - in the beginning - at that time - Jesus was God - and since God is eternal - Jesus is still God today - and He will be God forever. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ, is the same yesterday, today and forever" Now, here's what you need to know - if you don't have faith - then there is no way you are going to believe that Jesus is God. Arguing about Biblical truth with a person who has not received the gift of faith - is an endless argument. So there you have it - the truth from the Bible - if you don't like or you don't believe it - so be it.

But the people that mess with the Bible took Elohim and replaced it with the word of God. They made the one true God look like he did things that are totally contradictory to what he did before. Jesus definitely is not God but he is a metaphor and an example of what we are supposed to be. There are many gods that’s why his father is the most high God. Why did God send Jesus as a human to earth? Because He could not find one person who lived a perfect life to die for our (Adam and Eve's) sin. God had to send His firstborn to save the world from our inability to save ourselves from sin. There's a reason we can say Jesus is God based on OT examples but it never meant Father God. But the divine one who has God's name in him and is God's messenger.
