Well some theories like gravity pretty much make sense. But take string theory for example, there are 4 conflicting ways to prove it and they all seem correct... Lol so the had to invent a new dimension [11] and a whole other theory. M-theory to try and explain. But M-Theory so far has no practical means of testing.
