I've had this lathe a month and have cranked out bowls almost everyday. I worked with the JET 1015 for 2 years and made over a hundred bowls on a mini. This midi lathe works great for me. It's not a 3 hp machine but if your not ego maniac and take your time 12 inch bowls are no problem.

The lathe is great. I've made several pieces with it all with good success. I do find that it's underpowered with larger bowls.

Hi Kent, I only have minor expierience with a simple beginners lathe. But I'm looking forwrd to buying an own one. What I never understand: The turn switch on the right changes the speed of the motor turning. So what is the beltchanging actually for?

Hello Kent, Awesome video. Do you know the correct size of the thread on the handwheel. I would like to put a faceplate on there so i can mount a sanding plate. I know it's left side thread but what are the dimensions?

i just bought this lathe and it will not turn 21 inches between centers,,,reguardless of what they say,,,im trying to turn a 19 3/4 inch piece and it will not fit,,,at the most,,,you might get 17 to 18 inches,,,,false advertisement on jets part
