I once saw Jay Leno on a race track with a professional driver and a Porsche Carrera GT to see who could get it up to the top speed. Professional driver 191. Jay Leno 186 and he lost it after it broke loose at top speed. He not only saved it but kept it off the wall. I have the ultimate respect for this man’s driving skills!

Man, as scary fast as your traditional Hayabusa or Kawasaki or somewhere in that ballpark is, THIS beast? 273 top speed; hell even the NHRA pro stock bikes aren't clocking speeds like THAT😳. Such a huge list of reasons why a bike like this should probably not be available to the general public (Not trying to be insulting, but how many of us are at a driving school level on the road?🤷)..... Same with a Tesla Plaid, but that's another story for another day over some bourbon 💜

Because a turbine engine starts slower, its 0 to 60 mph time is more than most other 1000cc sport bikes, but once its over 40 mph the torque builds and its what you can stand as the speeds increase. It accelerates from 100 to 200 mph FASTER than it accelerates from 0 to 100 mph. You need a long, empty striaght stretch with which to play. Make sure the path ahead is clear and empty.

I was at local C&C 10 y ago and Jay was there with his turbine mc for about an hour or more...this was a small C&C but lots of unbelievable cars every Sunday. 1 Sunday there were 3 Ferrari F40s there parked together. I've loved those things since I was 19 never saw one IRL ..here were 3 of em! Just parked in a row ..kinda blew my mind eventually Jay rolled out on that beast creating a stir as u can imagine once he fired it up and as he was waiting at the light ..a seal blew just as he rolled on the gas when it went green .. the bike became God's own turbine powered smoke machine the entire intersection disappeared in smoke lol...... he finally appeared again some how turned it around and rolled back to the lot calmly hopped off peeled off. to his jacket, helmet etc and jumped under it to see what happened...popped up a min later 'yep blown seal or o-ring of some sort.. so he ends up hanging with us all for 3-4h waiting for one of his guys to come out w/a truck to pick up the bike and him and cart em bk to his Incredible car mecca in Burbank...i got some great pics of him inspecting and bs'ing with me about my custom supercharged Lexus IS300 .... I remember him sharing about that melted bumper story at some point as well..😊 Jay is good people. Good times.

Jay Leno didn't test one he OWNS one, and it didn't melt just any cars bumper it melted a Lamborghinis front bumper who was behind him which cost him several thousand dollars to replace... (Fun fact - Jay Leno also owns a jet powered car witch he had commissioned by general motors and is basically a Cadillac concept car with a jet engine, it's an absolutely beautiful and amazing vehicle. it's a true work of art.) 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Allison 250-c20b is the power plant in this Bike. It’s basically a very popular helicopter engine. The gas generator turns at approximately 53,000 rpm the power turbine turns at 30,000 and then reduces further to the transmission point of connection.
