jeremy pearson I’m so sorry, that must have affected the whole airline quite terribly. I didn’t realize AF were flying to London?? Ironically, I flew on two Air Florida B737-200s (sister ships to the crashed one) just a few months later...from/to London Gatwick. It was operated by (or for) Air Europe and successfully flew me to/from Corfu! I remember the outbound flight quite well because we hit some extreme turbulence over the Alps with hail hitting the plane, quite loudly for a while. Very memorable flight and holiday!

They can't do that with the current fleet. They'd need to order A321LR's (which would have only enough range to fly between NYC/Boston and the British Isles, Spain, Portugal and France) or widebodies with greater range such as the 787 or A330.
@jeronimocastro32826 жыл бұрын
@@janellek21 they can with the a321's they fly on transcon routes. After all, BA flies their even smaller a318 from LCY to JFK and Primera Air used to fly their a321 from London Stansted to Toronto if I'm not wrong.
@janellek216 жыл бұрын
@@jeronimocastro3282 Their A321s don't have the range to fly from the northeast USA to Europe unless they're reconfigured in an all-premium configuration with no more than 60-70 seats to reduce weight, and they're not ETOPS equipped either, so they can't do it without a stopover. The BA A318 and the Primera Air A321 are in all premium configuration with a limited number of seats and therefore fly with a lot less weight. If BA's A318 had the usual 100 seats, it would run out of fuel in the middle of the ocean.
@jeronimocastro32826 жыл бұрын
@@janellek21 I know about the premium seating only on BA's a318 however Primera Air was an LCC. How could they have had premium seating only? I know about the ETOPS but it is posible that they earn it. It is clearly posible and I'd be clearly happy about it!

My first experience with JetBlue was over 10 years ago. We had bad weather at JFK, which delayed us about 2 hours. We then ran out of fuel, due to headwinds, and had to make an unscheduled stop to get more fuel. The airline bought every passenger a sandwich during the fuel stop, and I got a groveling email apology with a travel voucher the next day. The crew remained cheerful throughout the whole flight, even though we were 4-1/2 hours late when all was said and done. You’re fortunate to have had such a great flight along the northeast corridor. The Boston-DC and Boston-NY flights are notorious for delays, especially later in the day. I wish I could say the train was always preferable, but given that the rail infrastructure is over 100 years old, it’s also prone to delays.

I flew Cape Air on Christmas Day 2018 from Boston Logan to Hyannis. Beautiful skies and fair winds. I was one of three passengers, and these Cessna 402s are still rock solid, Given that they last rolled off the line in 1985 (the year after I graduated high school, and I'm 52 now), this is a little duo prop with great sight lines and flight characteristics. Not for a nervous flyer, or one who doesn't want their luggage stowed in the nacelles aft of the engines. Cheers!

Dulles is a vacuum of an airport, devoid of personality, poorly connected to the city it claims to serve, and neglected by all of the major legacy carriers. It’s a dreadful airport for a capital city.
@ecclestonsangel6 жыл бұрын
@@Paul_Lucas my sister and I nicknamed Dulles "The Roach Motel." You can check in, but once you're there, it's next to impossible to get back out. It's one of those dreadful 70s style airports where you can just tell that whoever designed it was obviously doing a mind-altering substance. No one has gone to any great lengths over the years to update the airport and freshen it up, so it's quite dingy and miserable. Sitting there, waiting endlessly for your flight makes you want to cut your wrists! This will be my first time ever flying into National. My sister assures me it's quite a lovely, updated airport. I must admit, I'm rather grateful I will be flying in when the weather is improving. I've never forgotten the FloridaAir crash in '82, when the plane slid right off the runway and into the icy waters of the Potomac. We've improved our de-icing procedures a great deal since then.(and yes, I've just dated myself!) Logan is another simply awful airport. Dunno if they've improved it since I was last through, but there is no bloody rhyme or reason to the stupid place! It's not marked well at all! On a more positive note, it is fun to fly into and out of. You think you're going to crash right into the ocean till the very last moment, and your brain is screaming, "aaaaaahhhhhhh!" and then you hit the runway. I rather thought that was exhilarating, lol! Tirrah!

Just flew Jet Blue from Orlando to LAX and back on two of their aged A320s. The crew was super nice and seemed happy. Perfect on time arrival both flights. Free snacks! Free movies. Free wifi as a True Blue member. The downside: Very old interior and seats/electronics. On the flight to LAX, my backseat video screen cut out mid flight and didn't turn back on until right before touchdown.On the flight back, had to insert and turn the insert of my earbuds into the armrest just right to be able to hear anything, though the sound remained tinny. The video screens are poor definition and very small. The armrest of the guy next to me across the isle was broken and coming apart (the top of it kept lifting off the base). Why not upgrade the interiors of your old planes flying cross country? Those are relatively long flights and leave more of an impression. Overall, I'd fly them again, but the coolness factor is clearly losing its mojo on some of their older planes.

The Jet Blue Embraer E-190s are really very nice. I must admit I can't wait for their Airbus a220s to be added to their fleet.

I’ve been a TrueBlue member for years. But lately they’ve been cutting back alot. Especially on cross country flights. But I read that their fleet is being upgraded soon so maybe that’s the sign of good things to come.

Cape Air also uses those same C402s to fly EAS routes like OWB-STL.

I'm so glad you liked JetBlue! They are not perfect but I feel they get far more right than they do wrong, and their hard product generally beats any of the other US domestics. The FlyFi is a great product and you can generally stream videos (for free!) Other airlines don't measure up. Throw in the quick but professional service by the cabin crew and this airline is great! On short flights, the E190 is a very comfortable ride and, as you pointed out, the legroom and large windows are key features that make it a favorite of mine! It is certainly better than riding in a cramped CRJ! Personally, I will miss the E190s when JetBlue starts retiring theirs in the next few years - let's hope the A220s are as good! I wanted to quickly point out that JetBlue has been in South America for some years - they started service to Ecuador in 2016, Peru in 2013 and Colombia in 2009! I have to say, your views of New York City and the approach into Washington were truly breathtaking! Amazing! In all of my flights to DCA, I seem to be stuck on the wrong side of the plane or we land to the north, which is not quite as spectacular! Well done, Paul!

Absolutely loved this as all your videos. I’ve been watching many of your older videos and love how you’ve improved the quality with narration throughout the video vs the use of text based descriptions. Any plans for a Virgin Atlantic report? And what do you think the Future is for Virgin Trains USA in Florida?

Weird. I Never saw this on Patreon! I never heard anyone complain about JetBlue. They seem to be getting it just right for everyone. Nice landing too. Very surefooted. Looking forward to the train journey!

Great Video Paul! I love flying JetBlue and love the product. Sadly where I live in South Carolina JetBlue doesn’t have a route to my city so I always gotta drive to Charlotte but it’s worth it

JetBlue is now flying out of Ontario, CA for those of you that are familiar with Southern California.

Fantastic visuals. Worth $100 for the aerial shots alone!

I've often heard that JetBlue is analogous to Ryanair but the service looks far better, great selection of beers on that menu too! What a great value flight, and that landing! 🤩🤩🤩

JetBlue and Ryan Air are nothing alike or similar. They couldn't be more different
