Looks good Wil - I see some good improvements from the FSH210 however they need to loose the bottom set of rod holders on the sides- the take the skin off everyone’s ankles… top set is more than sufficient…

Good job Will. Looking forward to seeing that boat getting used. The manual on my 252se says break in is a little over an hour... 5 min trolling speed, 30 min below 5k and below 6k for the next hour. Is it 10 hrs for the supercharged engines?

That sounds like a typo. Not sure I'd recommend following that instruction.

Exactly how I broke mine in. Per manual for my 250. To be fair, I've only pinned throttle a couple times for 30 seconds or so. Most of the time it's been 5500-6500 rpm. Hopefully I broke her in well. The 255 fsh is my next on if we don't go bigger!

I have been waiting for a video on fsh 255. Thank you. I do a lot of fishing in the bayous of Louisiana and go out to gulf for family fun. Is this the right boat for me? I am mostly concerned about jet boats not very suitable for shallow water fishing of the LA bayous.

Jet Boats thrive in the shallows. Just be mindful of weeds and seagrass. If you are operating at low speeds in weedy or grassy areas you may have to clear your cleanout ports regularly. Many will add a trolling motor to their FSH to reduce prop fouling in these sorts of areas. Bear in mind that grass ingestion does not really happen at high speeds. The prop usually just chews up any ingested grass or weeds. When you're slow you don't have the RPM or pump pressure to do this so that is why I wanted to clarify that. We've run in the Panama City Florida area over the past few decades and have rarely had to clear our pump due to sea grass ingestion.

On 255 they are electric. Other FSH models use pump pressure from jet pump.

Wil, I am considering this boat for a charter on Lake Erie and would like to know if this would be a good option. Would this be a good boat to take out 2-4 folks for a charter?

I think it would. You won't find a more reliable boat than the Yamaha.

If your motor is off and your listening to music how long can you do that before it starts ruining the battery etc? Or when you should start the boat etc?

If fully charged you can run the music on the house battery pretty much all day, and then switch to the start battery to get you home. Some will install a solar charger to keep the batteries topped off during the day. That is a good idea if you're running the stereo hard. Especially if you're adding amps etc.

We typically do these when the boat is in its first model year. Otherwise we don't have access in later year models. If the 210 FSH goes through a body style change its is likely that we'll do one then. Also we did a review series on the 210 FSH back in 2018. Check our playlists for those videos.

Not sure about auto pilot. As for noise it's not bad, definitely manageable at speed.

Everything is log jammed right now. We are told one thing and then they change their lead times just before deliveries are expected. So frustrating.

@@JetBoatPilot That's a shame... things like that are enough for me to not buy the boat. Same with the engine flush. That's a lot of added engine hours for serious fisherman. Additionally, if you're using that range to run out to a spot 30-50 miles out (2-3 hour trip each way depending on conditions), that changing room/head/center console is useless while underway. You'll have to come to a stop to for anyone to use it.

In the early days, like 2003-2014 these types of boats were very loud. When Yamaha began installing sound deadening materials in a real comprehensive way around 2015 time frame, noise levels dropped precipitously. In 2021 noise levels are lower than ever and I'd consider comfortable at cruise speeds. Now, to be honest, are Yamaha jet boats louder at cruise than other boats in their class? My guess is yes, they are likely louder. But the real question is, what is comfortable to you and are you willing to consider the other benefits offered by a jet boat, in exchange for a few DB's of engine noise.
