@@danjforr Incredible is right. Jethro Tull is 1 of my favorite bands. This song reminds me of my college sweetheart. I think I read that the song is about/written to Ian's 1st wife. Military, thanks for serving. I was almost drafted during the Vietnam War, long story.

What a sight for my eyes To see you in sleep. Could it stop the sun rise Hearing you weep? You're not seen, you're not heard But I stand by my word. Came a thousand miles Just to catch you while you're smiling. What a day for laughter And walking at night. Me following after, your hand holding tight. And the memory stays clear with the song that you hear. If I can but make The words awake the feeling. What a reason for waiting And dreaming of dreams. So here's hoping you've faith in impossible schemes, That are born in the sigh of the wind blowing by While the dimming light brings the end to a night of loving.

I'm really just discovering JT for the first time. I'm in my early 50's and I can't believe how chamelion like they are. Always changing and moving forward. I was never exposed much to them until discovering them on youtube. Thanks to everyone who posts these old movies and videos. It makes me sad to see how young Ian was and how long ago these songs were recorded. He sure did put together an awsome band, and they accomplished so much, it seems that they should be in the HOF.

I first saw Jethro Tull in 1971...Ian Anderson onstage, a wide-eyed wildman playing and shaking his flute and strumming a guitar left a lasting impression on me that I have not forgotten. This album, and this song in particular is one of the finest ever produced in my humble opinion. I bought tickets to see Tull in San Diego County this June. I trust that it will be, once again, a memorable experience.

The musicianship and artistry of Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, The Moody Blues, and so many other progressive rock groups blossomed in the late sixties and early seventies, and these groups made some of the most beautiful and creative music, it really was revolutionary, like a second British Invasion, where a bunch of really talented groups came around at the same time. This is my favorite song from my favorite Tull album, "Stand Up".

When I first heard this song as a young teenager, I thought it was the most romantic thing (after "Norwegian Wood") that I'd ever heard. Later on, heard Roy Harper, and Ian Anderson's acknowledgement of inspiration, which diminished my love of this song not one jot. It will always remind me of being young and hopelessly in love with someone. It's on the funeral playlist, but I'll certainly continue to love and be inspired by it in the meantime. Great clip photos, buy the way! Many thanks!
