Do you know if they stille have the original film elements for this ? It looks like it was shot on 16mm or 35mm, so something that could be natively scanned to 4K (contrary to analog tapes generally limited to 480p)

It sounds like someone recorded it using a single 1970's boom box. So much distortion. It's just a bad recording. I don't think the problem is just "analog tapes". It is possible to get great recordings using "analog tapes" if some proper recording hardware is used and some effort is put into it .
