To answer Ivana‘s question：YES! those kinds of hairstyle and jewelry were mainly for the upper class in the past.ordinary people could only be dressed-up like this once or twice for big ceremony or something. And the hairpins were called 步摇 in chinese，which is literally translated as “walk shake”，They were supposed to limit the movements of the ladies and princesses who were meant to be quite and elegant.

bro i really appreciate how well you took random people taking pictures of you on the street. once i watched a vlogger who takes his camera doing what you are doing exactly in china but took it very badly when random people trying to take pictures of him. i mean come on you are walking around with a go pro and recording everyday people minding their own business, why cant they take pictures of you back? Not a lot of chinese people could see a foreigner all dressed up and its pretty natural that they wanted to record this moment of their life, just like you want to record them. Thanks for this donation! We were glad to give out some ang pow during CNY. Although, we think we might have made a small mistake: The bank notes in the envelopes were not fresh and crisp right from the bank. Is that considered rude?
