Jetta MK2 coupe restoration - amazing transformation

Hey guys! We have been working for about a year on this project and we want to share it with you. If you have patience and some skills you don't really need many tools to handle personal projects like this.

very good project the car is done just right as needed and not some overhaul just have a couple of suggestions regarding the wheels on this red it would fit more if the wheels are white and for the interior it would somehow fit more if the seats are golf 3 GTI edition (black, red) but if the car is nice to you it's great every part of this is not easy to do either 👍😀

Should've kept the big bumpers and small/new mouldings, and the wheels look terrible as some already stated. Maybe it would look a lot better if painted silver or polished look? Other than that, amazing work 👍🏼

Thank you for your input. The old bumpers were damaged beyond repair and the small moldings were missing entirely. I went small bumpers because I wanted an older look.

Perfectly done. The only thing i would change is the color of the wheels. Black or white would do nicely.

Hey brother, i know this is an older video but do you have any jetta part connections? I'm restoring a pretty much MINT 87 Jetta gli 16v we bord, stroked and cammed the motor just got it done im having problems finding rear calipers. And interior parts and window trim.

Hi Gregory! You might find some parts on heritageparts or werk34. The rear calipers might work from golf mk3. See some dedicated forums in your country, you might find what you need!

Hi, unfortunately I don't have any other media for this one. I plan to make some video with the new engine setup and some pulls. Hopefully in the near future we will get to work on a mk1 Polo and we will try to create some videos with the restoration. I am from Romania .

I took a trip in Spain and I bought them from Desguaces La Torre- biggest second hand car parts vendor/ car parting store in Spain. I am not sure you can find new, or at least at a decent price. I bought them for almost nothing, amongst other little things. They were for four door but I removed the back door seal and now it has a small gap over there.

how much money did you spend to remodel the car?

I don't know for sure. If you want it to be like an investment keep it original. It will sell well if you want to do that in the future. If you want it to be on your taste do whatever mods you want but keep it simple and don't think you will get the money back if you need to sell.

Everything is very very nice except the interior and wheels, i think interior is not well made.🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks! It is not my cup of tea either. The lack of materials and the restrained budget led me to what I have now. I wanted a different color, beige or amber orange, but there was no material like this in the stores at an acceptable price. The refurbishing cost me about $300( the seats were made by a company and the interior cards by me-first time sawing such a thick material with a regular sawing machine). A complete interior like this from a company will come at about $1500..

😉 With some money you can tune a diesel to give you enough power... The petrols on the other hand requires extensive and expensive modifications to give that same amount of power!
