Love your screen name. Also I also think Jewel is selling the core reason Firefly is still a thing. Even "youngsters" I've introduced to the show in the last month or so FELL IN LOVE WITH THE WHOLE SHOW! Not so much "Serenity" however. I"m still greatly disappointed in that film. Jewel would also be great if she starred in a reboot of "The Mysteries of Laura" or "Blood Ties".....

I was late to the party in that I kept seeing "brown coats" at conventions (I had never seen or heard of Firefly and kept asking these guys about it) I was doing the safety for. When I finally got around to watching it, at least the episodes were in order which I understand was part of the "sabotage" when it first ran. What a show. And _Serenity_ is just wow. But even Nathan Fillion has said it's dead and gone. A bright flash of what could have been.

Firefly is a concentrated medicine for restoring one's faith in humanity, despite the challenge the cancellation poses on the same issue. And Kaylee was the character who restored the other characters' faith in humanity, so she was like the engine of the engine. Huge props for being able to make that happen.

Firefly is one of those rare shows that truly knows it's characters right from episode 1. A lot of shows you can feel the growing pains and watch in real time as the actors figure out the character. Everyone in Firefly feels so consistent and well thought out right away. You can understand them so well and they all play so well off each other with unique dynamics across the cast. Plus, the casting was perfect. Can't underplay that.

You hit that right on the nail head, I watch all the players go on to unbelievable careers. Jewel S spent more time in Sci Fi. Alan t. Have been all over the map. But his stance in any show are very memorable. Summer Glu is the one I have not seen as much. I know she has kept working in the industry , just not wear. No one has to say anything about Nathan /Castle.

I love that Nathan Fillion story about just signing the sh*t because of the perspective that he painted. It goes into the same motivation that Katee mentioned previously about how she treats people during conversation meet-and-greets and is just something that I’d like to see more people do, regardless of their level of celebrity.

Since KZbin is my only media( social or otherwise) I am grateful that you have the podcast here. The video is a plus, but just as an access point alone thank you! Also, love Jewel and I'm so glad we got this and to hear that you 2 have found each other and friendship. As for women shaming moms for being sexual beings that comes from a place of personal shame and we should feel bad for them and try to convince them they have nothing to feel shame for. Exposing children to appropriate understanding of sexual experiences and expectations will help them have a healthier relationship with their own body and connections to others as they become adults and age beyond youth. Often it teaches them that it's not something to be quiet about and they are more likely to talk to trusted adults and keep themselves safe

For those who don't know, Firefly has continued in comic book form. There are several one shot type stories, and a couple ongoing series. It's a mixed bag, some are better than others, but some of them do continue the story beyond the film. It's not the same of course, but they're worth reading for fans who can never get enough of those characters.

Viewed to the end. I find that I follow/track what happens on an episode better if it has video. Remember that facial gestures and mannerisms convey a great deal in a conversation. Really enjoyed this episode with Jewel Staite. Did not realize she was a teenager when she performed on Firefly. I really liked her character portrayal. Like many people, I really like/love Firefly. So many actors of note were either regulars or were guests. I count it as one of the best sci-fi shows ever. Battlestar Galactica in my opinion really should not be pigeonholed as a sci-fi show. At the time of its original airing I thought it was the best "drama" on television. Katee, watch the show with your husband!

Excellent show Katie! So much I could say, but I'll keep it short. You give a very positive vibe thru the screen imo. @1:12 you talk about other women having issues with "celebrity" older women posting "sexy" pictures of themselves. As a 65yo African American looking from the outside in. I would say it's Jealousy. They have their own body perception issues. Some get triggered when they see "others" enjoying the freedom to express their love of self. Also there are cultural differences in the Global Market. I hope you can find a way to brush it off mentally. Followers come and go. It's the nature of human beings. We move around, try new things, and overtime our tastes change. But we still maintain our core values. We all want love, acceptance (not guaranteed), and security. I hope you take excerpts from this video and release them as shorts on YT. Your talk about health insurance costs strikes at the heart of our societies problems. The costs to keep your children alive is shocking to say the least. I really like the part about the 99% are not Rich and struggle to make ends meet. How short your terms of employment are. It reminds me of being a migrant worker. Feast when you get work, but only for a few months out of the year, then famine until you (if your lucky) land your next gig. A hard way to make a living if you ask me. I wish you all the best and look forward to your future videos and acting work.🥰

Video made me come back, thanks and great episode. Jewel was awesome, and you're right people think because you are on TV it you're wealthy. I know the majority of actors struggle, but when you see series regulars posting about various trips they take across the world, things average people don't ever get a chance to do, its really hard to equate that in our minds with you guys being just normal people. On top of that the fact you could work for 6 months and be "fine" financially not working six months its also hard for the average person to wrap their heads around. That said I love your conversations about the industry it really helps us understand what life is like for you and I think its a good thing that actor/actresses have podcasts and social media where they can tell us its not just Life Styles of the Rich and Famous. Continue to keep up the good work, can't wait to see what guest you have next.
