mashAllah this is beautiful, I am a recent revert to Islam but technically Jewish by the matrilineal rule (my mother and her family are Jewish). It is wonderful to see music unite and enhance all religions, ethnicities, races, and peoples of the world. Love and peace to all

En El Salvador, de donde es mi familia y nacieron mis padres, tenia un tio abuelo que se llamaba Moises. Y fue el que me conto hace muchos años que somos Judios. Mi familia de ambos padres, desde la epoca de los 40's para atras, tenian "Ladino" en sus partidas de nacimiento. Tambien tenemos el apellido de Ladino de parte de mi bisabuela. Otros appellidos en mi familia son Herrera y Acosta, apellidos Sefardíes. Estoy convencido que somos decendientes de los B'nai anusim, Sefaradim.

I hear echos of Napoli in Bat Ahuvat El. Absolutely gorgeous. There is a strong Spanish influence in Naples and our people. A lot are probably Benei Anusim.

I was born in Bulgaria when i was one year old We came to Israel from Bulgaria and lived in Israel to a Spanish Jewish family and at home they spoke the language to ladino , And more Bulgarian! And when I came to Spain for the first time, I felt very strange as if I was here! I understand almost everything what spoke to me slowly, I was 5 times in Spain! i was dancing flameco too. it is in our blod. VikiLahav shalom to all.

Mi abuela nació en un pueblo de Perú llamado Celendin, dicho pueblo fue fundado por Sefarditas conversos (españoles y portugueses) que sin embargo mantuvieron sus costumbres, mi bisabuelo tenía entre sus apreciados recuerdos un cuerno de carnero que le llamaba chofa, una camisa larga sin cuello y 4 tiras que le colgaban, que mi abuela la guardaba doblada y separada del resto de la ropa. Muchas de las familias en época de la Colonia huyeron al Brasil por el río marañón temiendo la llegada de los inquisidores

Los judíos conversos fueron los aliados de francéses y anglosajones para los inicios de las rebeliones de las mal llamadas independencias americanas.. Y la Inquisición solo velaba por q se cumplieran las leyes de Indias. ante los abusos de los conversos sobre los indígenas.

Los judíos expulsados de España - y confiscados en cuanto a casi todas sus pertenencias hay que agregar porque no se les permitía sacar oro o dinero con lo cual practicamente tenían que regalar sus propiedades - no aceptaron convertirse. Los que se convirtieron se dividieron en dos categorías : los así llamados "cristianos nuevos" y los "marranos" que aparentemente se convirtieron pero siguieron manteniendo los rituales religiosos y personales que seguían vinculándolos al judaismo. Obviamente arriesgaban la vida con esto. En este caso parecería tratarse del segundo grupo dado que la Inquisición también existía en América. Pero no es del todo claro si siguieron manteniéndose en esa categoría o terminaron convirtiéndose totalmente.

The Roma and Sephardim music are pretty similar. The flamenco vibe is very strong. What adds to it is most probably that both people group come from the East and use the same *basic* musical scale: freygish/hijaz/Spanish Gypsy scale. Too simple of an explanation. But I love the Spanish and Jewish cultures. 😍🤩😄

Mukhos grazias. I understand 6O% of your Language Ladino. We are 30.000 only in Switzerland and have 5 Idioms different in Switzerland. Shalom to the very musikians in Israel Spain and where they kome from. Our language is not lear historikly where the language kame from. Many people have Jewish Names in our Region Alp,s Switzerland. We love Jewish people, not the majority but many say nothing about the history unfortunelly. Given how little the folk music of Appalachia has changed in the last 200 years - it's been added to, but still fundamentally not that different from the folk music of the Ulster Scots from whom they descend - it wouldn't surprise me much if the Sephardim held onto a lot of the songbook they had in 1500 and just added to it over the years.
