When i first visited the Philippines to visit my girlfriend ( now wife ) i was truely humbled by the love and kindness of these people.My wife's 8yr old niece was at school the morning i was returning to the UK, so i phoned the school and asked if i could go there and say goodbye to her. Of course they were only too pleased that i drop by. I stopped off on route at a supermarket and got sweets, soft drinks and crisps for all 36 kids in the class. also i got a box of chocolates for their teacher. That day cost me £10, but all the money in the world could not buy the look of suprise and happiness on them kids faces, They all gave me 3 cheers and i burst into tears, 36 little angels and the Philippines had stole my heart.

Love has no boundary. I remember when I was still living in the Philippines, that if we only had two cups of rice for lunch and dinner and a neighbor or a stranger asks for food we'll give the other cup so that person can also eat. Then we would go around to look for dinner later even if it means borrowing a cup of rice from a neighbor. It was a common practice to help each other out. That's the kind of community I grew up in. I now realized how fortunate I was to have experienced that. We may be poor in materials but we are rich in love and spirit with all humility. God does His work through people's hearts. The precious gift of Life on Earth may be short and temporary but it's the only way to prepare the most precious gift later which is the Eternal Life. Thank you for caring Ms Jez. I'm a Filipina, and as much as we're disrespected across the world, seeing a video like this one, is very humbling and makes us proud to be who we are at the same time. We cannot help what to eradicate the 25% poverty all at once, but we try in our own way. We welcome everyone, we get taken advantaged sometimes, but our people are our best representative of our country. We don't fake our smiles.
