I'd suggest that it's the men who see these double standards and complain are the ones ignorant here. After all there's an entire subsection of radical feminists who reject chivalry. Assuming that was what you were taking about.
@vampfan75695 жыл бұрын
@@susanneyuk-pingpong8705 No, I respect women who stand by their principles and reject chivalry because they feel it is against their ideals. I am talking about the double standards of feminists who claim they want to be independant and equal but still expect the man to pay for meals. Or the women who claim they want to be treated like a man but still want to be able to slap a man for offending them and not get hit back because they are a woman. You cannot ask to be treated like a man and still claim "Women's Priviledges", you either want to be equal or you don't. I believe in true equality between genders, where men and women are treated exactly the same. No more "ladies first", carry your own damn bags, pay for your own meals and if you slap me expect one back, just like every other bloke in my life.
@vampfan75695 жыл бұрын
@Truthful Chap first wave feminism back in the day was about equal rights, unfortunately this latest generation of feminism is as you said about women's superiority and men apologising for being born men
@vampfan75695 жыл бұрын
@Truthful Chap That is true, although they weren't about oppressing men like this new lot, they just wanted to vote and be accepted in the workplace. They also didn't attack women who chose to fit into the so-called patriarchal gender stereotypes.
@vampfan75695 жыл бұрын
@@leilaniz5909 My issue isn't with women who want to be equal in the workplace, that is a basic human right, whatever your gender you have a right to workplace equality. I also have no issue with having a loving, caring environment at home. I am a gentleman of the old school where it is a sign of respect to open doors for women and give up your seat and all the other acts of so called chivalry apparently hated by the new wave of feminists. The views I expressed in my previous comment were not aimed at women trying to be equal to men, but rather at those who whine and cry about male privilege while simultaneously taking advantage of female privilege. If you want a career, go for it, if you want a family go for it, I will support you as much as you need me to. I will happily work to provide for my family, or stay home with the kids so my wife can work and build a career, as long as there is mutual respect and equality between us. Unfortunately I have found very few women with any respect for men, or a desire for equality, but rather a desire for superiority.

Excellent comedy. I wish that paying on the first date was the only traditional gender role forced on men. Unfortunately they are all still there. From the basic expectation of greater respect being given to women, through "provide and protect" all the way to the expectation of women and children first. Looks exactly the same for men as it did two hundred years ago except now we get contempt instead of appreciation or respect. I'm pretty sure the intention was only ever to free women from the oppressive bonds of traditional gender roles and make sure the boys stay in their cage.
@Ffinity Жыл бұрын
I've never experienced that, every woman I dated offered to pay or took a turn at buying a round. Just lucky I guess. Edit: Also, women and children first is the bare minimum in times of danger. @@Ffinity Good for you. I've never really dated in the traditional sense so, like you, I have almost no experience of this myself. Unlike you I'm not denying yours, or anybody else's, lived experiences so it's pretty clear to me that what we are talking about represents the vast majority of men's experience. Even though you and I have not experienced it ourselves, we would be idiots to dismiss the experiences of far more men than us. Do you know what a straw man argument is?
