Diction, or articulation, is a very important skill to have when speaking a second language. In English, the vowels are essential since they are where we stress syllables. Pronouncing the vowels more accurately helps the overall rhythm of speech. Try this video if you are looking to improve the shape of American vowels. Check out my website at www.byjilldiamond.com. And feel free to contact me at info@byjilldiamond.com for information about our instructor-led classes. Thanks or watching!

This aproach is way better to teach vowels, more organized than the traditional academic vowel chart. I think we are used to learn English the same way we study our Native language in school, and that didn't teach us how to speak! This simplification is absolutely brilliant, thank you Jill!

Jill is really teaching students the fundamentals that we can apply the moment you start to speak in English. This is very different from other youtuber teachers (some I saw...) who are basically sharing tips which is really confined to little area thus you cant use it horizontally.

Such a great video. In terms of pronunciation, the vowels are definitely the most challenging part of speaking proper english to me, whose native language is Portuguese. In my native language there are fewer vowel sounds than in English, so some of them might sound a little too much similar to each other (like in "beat" and "bit", "bat" and "bet" or "cut" and "cot"). Thank you for the valuable tips.
