The Wayans and the entire cast of In Living Color have said many times how much they LOVE Jim Carrey! Jim's comedy comes from an honest space - and that alone makes him an American Treasure.

My heart just wanna jump off my chest, my eyes don't wanna miss out on the beauty and meaning of what he's trying to convey. It's beyond beauty and comprehension - that whole understanding and connection! I know, I had to question almost all what had handed down to me from generation to generation. It was uncomfortable at first, many think I have "lost" it. But I am glad I dove deeper. And though I may not know all the answers, that's okay because think about it, if we were being put out in the Universe to "know it all" then there'll no more be nothing out there to learn. We and everything else will become dull, boring, and without meaning. We all know the Universe is infinite and so we are. :-))

I was in middle school I believe when I started hearing stuff about Jim going crazy or whatever and it was at the same time the internet was good enough you could look up interviews and watch them online. And I just remember as a kid being like... he's making a lot of sense to me..? Why do people think he's crazy? I never for once felt like he "lost it". Felt more like he honed in and "found it". He's influenced me tremendously both creatively and through him talking about how he never took a door shutting as meaning he wasn't meant for that space/world. Very inspiring.

His idea of "putting on a front" (when ppl said he went crazy few years ago) is just him! His film choices "The Mask" or "The Truman show" or "Bruce Almighty" or "Liar liar" were ALL to do with the same thing.... portraying someone and finding yourself!! Amazing how he addressed the same theme through his film career (through comedy no less!!) and now he's wrote a book in the same style where you have to work out the real him inside. @Mister0064 жыл бұрын
They love the stuffing out of Jim. They really do! I really don't think he "finally" spoke on in living color - he's talked about working with them and his feelings in the past. They've talked about him and the feelings are mutual (love). What they and most of the actors in Hollywood don't like is how the industry will grab onto the first "white" whatever working in an African American genre, or in an African American comedy show, and turn him/them into superstars while denying the same level of opportunity to the rest. Jim broke out early on big projects and made a lot of money early. It took a longer while and a few more tries for others from the cast (Jamie Foxx [Oscar], David Alan Grier, Damon Wayans, Kelly Coffield Park, T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh, Steve Park, Tommy Davidson) to get their due, but I'm glad for all of them, they're all singular talents! I'm sure it caused some tension to start.
