The fact that Carrey DIDN'T join SNL but instead landed on In Living Color was one of the reasons ILC did so well. That and Jaime Fox. But his characters on ILC were so good and so outlandish that I don't think they would have made it on SNL. He's comedy lifted the bar on all the sketches on ILC. Wayan's brothers and Fox were good too but Carrey was just a rocketship.
@StuUngar2 жыл бұрын
Jamie Foxx wasn’t a huge name bc of ILC, nor was he ever the main player. The big breakouts initially were Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans. Outside of Wanda…and to a lesser extent, Carl “The Tooth” Williams, Jamie Foxx didnt even have any good characters. When people talk about ILC, they always bring up Jamie Foxx, but thats bc he has become a big name after he started appearing in big budget films like Ali, Collateral, and Ray. But David Alan Grier, Tommy Davidson, Kelly Coffield, and Tommy Davidson were all bigger contributors to that show than Foxx.

But now, just like w Sandler's recent (OSCAR WORTHY) movies & phenomenal standup, through Lights Out I am now a HUGE Spade fan!! Maturity has brought a low-key consistent brilliance & hilariously consistent comedy to everything he does on here, even as a great interviewer! Can't see Adam doing this, but David has really found an entire new groove & group of fans, like me! Now I've been watching & really appreciating his previous stuff, esp his standup. Plus, he's gotten really hot😁Very sexy, smooth, & comfortable with himself & his easy humor, doesn't need to try as hard do not goofy, I adore him & can't get enough..... REALLY needs a Netflix special now like Sandler & Murphy👍😍 Feel same about Carrey's comfortable, funny, non-goofy, less extreme comic maturity as well, Kidding is freaking brilliant!!
