This reminds me of how stupid the entrances to the Casino Battle Royal used to be Logic would dictate if you have faces and heels in a particular suite (since AEW grouped the participants according to spades, clubs, hearts, or diamonds), that they would be fighting on their way to the ring. The first one or two of them was stupid because everyone just entered the ring first and fought. It was only with the women's Casino Battle Royal at All Out '19 that we saw face and heel women brawl upon the group entrances before getting in the ring

Can I just say, as someone who went to nearly every drivable show in every VFW hall and high school gym for years back in the 80s, those who claim it's always been the norm to root for heels is lying. I can tell you a bunch of my own tales of parking lot confrontations after I was caught rooting for the "satanic" bad guy, or for Masked Russian 2 against Sgt. Slaughter, Abdullah the Butcher vs anyone, and yes, even bringing my be-sparkled tennis racket sign reading "Jim Cornette for President." You see, I did ALWAYS root for the heels. I thought it was fun to step outside of my real life, where I always had to be the good guy, and live vicariously for a few hours through the evil characters in the ring. And most people just didn't get that then. So the heat that those heels generated was sometimes released on the smart marks like me.

Reflecting on Jim’s answer I didn’t consider that if they’re gonna go so far to have separate locker rooms they’d make them come from different entrance ways Like one of them say it’s a television production with the stage and everyone has to hit they’re same exact pose in the same position the camera angles are the same all the time It just shows how much modern wrestling has changed the perspective of wrestling Jim can tell us that back then everyone thought it was real and there was real heat but you don’t know what it’s like unless you’ve been there I understand Jim even more now when he says wrestling today is different

What Corney talks about at about 8 minutes: not only were fans ironically put much farther away from the rasslers and the ring AFTER kayfabe died, but when they DIDN’T admit it was choreographed, wrestling got no coverage from the “main stream media”. Now they admit it’s choreographed, and CBS sports, ESPN, etc. cover it. It’s weird. Also, I’m surprised he didn’t mention how close fans were in the studio tapings with no barrier. It’s amazing watching those old clips now. One more point: even though kayfabe is dead, we’re in a different time. See the incident where the guy rushed and tackled Brett Hart at the HOF induction or whatever that was. That’s I’m sure another reason for the distance.

You know what's worse about not having separate entrances is having them but still having a "back stage" fight every week. If they're all in the same place anyway then constant fights outside of matches makes sense, unless you do like early ROH or EVOLVE where there are fines for such behavior. But when there are separate ways for the faces and heels them fighting all the time just becomes confusing. The camera men should be able to catch anyone moving from one side to the other. At least after it becomes a regular thing they should stop being caught off guard.

@@jamesblack893 Sometimes Last refers to youtube comments, it could work. Emails are a gamble, they can do a 3-hour show but only read 3 and play 1 or 2 songs.

Wrestlemania would definitely have the indoor attendance record if they just have a normal entrance. Like Cornette said you would like to have that area for seats.

The era I came up in, everyone's costume was a gimmick or job, and they were good enough to get the point across. No everyone's costume looks like someone spent 20 grand on a cosplay costume for a character in another universe. They are very elaborately dressed as nothing we have any analog of

NWA house shows at Norfolk Scope in the 80s had two separate entrances. The entrances were on opposite sides of the arena. They kept this up through some of the televised WCW events there in the 90s until the Monday night wars. I still don't like the single entrance way for everybody, even though it's been done for over 20 years now.

You can explain away having one entrance area/curtain/whatever, if you say "Heel comes out of the hell locker room first, goes through the curtain, and while he's going to the ring, getting heat, THEN the babyface comes through the building, and waits at Gorilla for his entrance." And if they should meet up in Gorilla, the booker/owner/whoever would tell them "Don't you start anything here. You start killing each other here, and you break any of this equipment, I'll fine you tonight's pay, and next week's, too." Or something like that. Tell them "You're paid to fight out there, in the ring, not back here." Give some believable reason why these two guys who hate each other would refrain from killing each other until they're in the ring.

I hate the extraneous lighting. There is too much. Turn off everything but the ring lights. And get rid of the dumbass led board ring posts, and ring skirt. It's absolutely stupid

Is that how they kidnap people? They just hang out and wait for them to come back from the ring then snatch them up?
