The fact that Vince has so many classic matches and moments despite his lack of in-ring skills proves what so many fans want to deny: in pro wrestling, it's not about the holds and the moves. It's about the pacing and the psychology. He might sell his brand as "sports entertainment" but Vince is a wrestling promoter and is well aware of how pro wrestling is supposed to work. Before his mind goes completely there needs to be a series of shoot interviews with him, split in each era that he's been privy to either as a commentator, a promoter, or a confidant in the case of some of the feds he worked alongside. Call it "An Evening with Mr. McMahon" and do it Last Dance style with multiple episodes.

@John Volken I don't think any promoter worth their salt considers wrestling in front of an empty crowd when holding their shows. Obviously WWE is trying to figure that out now given the circumstances.

Not entirely accurate- Vince's big matches never drew big business. His February 1999 cage match with Austin at St. Valentines Day Massacre was out-drawn by WCW's SuperBrawl PPV that same month. His WM match with Bret Hart also didn't draw well either.

When I saw Vince on Smackdown last Friday, I couldn't believe it was him. Very decrepit, tired, stressed and pretty much human. He is not the same guy me and my baby brother used to watch. Everyone will go through old age but it's best to keep your youth as long as you can. Never give it up till you have to. Father time catches everyone whether we like it or not. There is better things after this world so people should be hopeful there us something better. Keep your spirituality no matter what.

Either way someone did something wrong. It's hopefully in the hands of police investigators now.

@Smith Hart I know, my friend. I started watching wrestling a few months after Hogan beat the Iron Sheik in Jan. 1984. Of course it was the WWF back then. I'll still watch both though fast forwarding through a lot of it. :)

@@sonnyjames8922 The World Wildlife Fund forced the World Wrestling Federation to change its name to the WWE because they violated an earlier agreement with them to limit their use of the WWF acronym and logo in certain parts of the world (they were fine in America but not overseas). The wrestling WWF unfortunately ignored the panda WWF and did it anyway, which is why they're permanently banned from using the WWF logo on everything that was made before they changed it to the WWE and on subsequent shows after the lawsuit (which all had to be changed to the WWE).

For once, I find the thumbnail illustration confusing. If you don’t read the title and just go by the picture, that’s clearly a Mr. Wrestling #1 and/or #2 mask. It has the letter “V” on it, but that can easily [because of the Mr. Wrestling reference] be confused with a Roman numeral 5, misleading one to think, “what’s up? There’s no Mr. Wrestling V?!”

Vince seniors objection was with Vince juniors involvement with the wrestling biusness. It had nothing to do with Vince wanting to be a wrestler. His dad gave him one shot as a small time promoter working an arena in Maine. Vince poured his heart and soul into it. The rest is history. As far as Vinces marriage, they were happily married. They grew into the biusness since Capitol wrestling until they bought over under Titan sports.

Actually the first time Vince was in the ring and part of an angle was when Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart's Storyline got too real. Remember Shawn Michaels superkicking Vince. Then the second time was Stone Cold's stunner to Vince. Shortly after he was involved. I never heard Vince wanting to Wrestle but I do know Vince wanting to be in the wrestling business and his dad didn't want him to. I bet that is what people are talking about because Vince told of his dad not wanting him to have anything to do with Wrestling. And he still gets very emotional over his dad. Like everything he does is to prove to his dad. But he was into body building since the early days of Hulk Hogan from what I have heard.

Sure theres exceptions such as Mysterio, Kane and even Lucha dragons guys had their solo runs with midcard titles but there been plenty other masked men that really only became enhancement talent such as Patriot, The Blue Blazer , plenty others couldn't gain above certain levels of a ppv view card. Now in NWA and AWA guys like the Assassins, Texas Hangmen, Mr Wrestler 1 and 2 ,and other did great .

The McMahon territory just never really used masked wrestlers as faces and in the old WWWF days they had the policy of sending people home happy so the tradition for a long time was to very rarely put the belts on heels - (I imagine that stayed with Vince when he took over from his Dad). Worked out for the most part since heels like the Masked Superstar got main event runs back then since they were good enough to not need the belt to be over - the heat with the crowd made them draws.

He even had a so called match with Undertaker but it was one sided at Survivor Series 2003. But if it was not I would not of liked it. It was bad enough he had one with Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair and HHH. Because of his age and because he was not a Wrestler. Yet he almost beat Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan.

As much as I hate the product that WWE has become over the years , Vince deserves so much respect for all that he's done for wrestling in his life

Did he work under a mask - is the stupidest question ever. Vince doesn't look like he's ever had enough training lol
