I can respect choosing something other than the same ten matches that everyone picks. I have a weird one, Scotty Flamingo vs. Flyin’ Brian Pillman at Beach Blast 1992. It’s my favorite because holy shit look at Raven and Pillman at the beginning of the decade and look where they’d end up, and because it’s the perfect exhibition of a classic face vs heel singles match. It’s not amazing, but it’s illustrative.

@KaneMagus I dunno man. We got one or two legends for a special occasion, like a Royal Rumble, or that career retrospective of the legends at Badd Blood '97. Mae and Bob were actually part of the show for good periods of the '90s, so that doesn't really count. I remember when Jake the Snake came back for a Highlight Reel in 2003, and That was a big deal. Or when Piper teased a Jimmy Snuka appearance that same year. But outside of legends being part of the active roster, we didn't really get too many one-off appearances back then.

I agree with Mr. Cornette there really needs to be a cut off point when it comes to the status of the term “legend”. Just because someone wrestled in the mid 2000’s or 2010’s for wwe doesn’t make them a legend. If they are in the Hall of Fame obviously that’s different but there are a lot of people on this list that they are naming that are nowhere near legendary status but there are some very big exceptions of course!

WWE would love to market all former employees as legends, so they can sell it to their viewers that way. We all know that ain’t the case though. If once a year they did a “Legends and Alumni Night” or “Week” in WWE where on RAW and SmackDown legends and alumni return, you could even do NXT where some of the main roster guys who are big stars take over NXT for a night ... once a year annually ... they could make it work but it’s just that they only do this when they’re desperate and they make a joke out of it. These “Specials” could be once a year where some legends even wrestle some matches and some funny/fun stuff happens and we celebrate these guys and honour them, present the main event as like your two top stars teaming with two legends etc. But instead they make a mockery and bury their current guys and only ever do this when their ratings are slumping so we just hate it.
