The MJF and Cole stuff is over with fans because the fans are into memes and sarcastic/in-jokes that are on the spot humorous but have no lasting overall structure for the progress of the overall product. Its like when a fan says ITS JUST A BIT OF FUN when someone critiques the psychologies of a match. If you allow slow motion wrestling or something that exposes the industry, then you cant ALSO claim that "This is professional wrestling" or "This is NOT Sports Entertainment"

AEW marketing goofs came to the office and told us on Monday that they wanna put up Adam pictures around the city. Long story shirt Adam only drew in 1k more of tickets. Mind you this the live show.

This is far too kind to the heel gang in the first match. Fenix is what he is: on the one hand a phenomenal athlete and on the other an idiot and a maniac who is a risk to others and himself with no grasp of logic. But the rest of them... it's bad that there were so many open attacks on Fenix from people not in the match even before the bell, becaue although JJ couldn't be DQed for that surely the heels are pretending to be innocent, not drawing the ref's attention...? But it continued with there even being a point when Satnam climbed up on the apron and took a swing at Fenix while Aubrey just stared at him. WTF? I don't *want* the match to end in a DQ but that's what she should logically have done - or at least sent them all to the back. The MJF/Cole promo was fairly stupid even before they 'caught' the Big Show. This is as bad as 'comedy' in wrestling gets. It's sillier than the MJF/Jericho dinner dance and suggests MJF had more to do with dreaming that up than people thought. The Buck vs Cage & Claudio match was so stupid. There are ways of having a skilful small man hold his own in matches like that but you have to be clever about it. Early on he flipped both of them by doing a headscissors and a ?flying headlock...? It looked about as genuine as if Riho had chokeslammed Nyla Rose. The Righteous seem pretty good to me. I didn't even mind the promo (it's unfair to compare it to the worst of the Firefly Funhouse).

AEW's core blindly loves MJF no matter what he does. A lot of the IWC seems to have the same blind spot too. Seriously at some point ya gotta acknowledge if everything MJF's involved in sucks and that locker room pretty much calls their own shots, then by extension MJF sucks. Maybe he'd be a decent midcarder if reigned in, but at his best he's just Diet Miz. I get we all called that one wrong, we expected Flair or Piper, maybe settle for Debiase and the reality is we got a less impressive Hogan with more politicking.

Yes MJF appeals to a specific audience. Spend some time on AEW's social media and it's pretty clear it's predominantly not people with jobs or lives. A lot of it is the same trust fund "house pets" that kind of ruined all of entertainment by whining about it nonstop. Let's just say odds are they did not attend public school, that's not an audience they can really grow. *And to be fair he's a better worker than Hogan but that's not exactly a high bar to clear, he ain't exactly Bret or Curt or Ric or Hot Rod on the in ring work.

Punk didn't just call out the Elite, he was equally critical of Max and it was not a work. If you notice Max avoided responding to Punk when Punk was literally calling him out for politicking "want a shot at the belt or are you like Max and just don't want me to have it?".
