at this point jim is the only one holding himself back from fully liking chad gable. the comedy has been held back a bit but the “shoosh” and “thank you” are selling shirts and the crowd likes it so they’re not gonna nix that. gable is still hella impressive and he’s amazing in the ring.

They've already had 2 unbelievable matches on television, so given the chance of doing a longer match to end their trilogy, they could definitely whip up an unbelievable match. Also it seems that Gable got over doing more comedy stuff, but now he's starting to shift a little more serious. Still fun and humorous but you can also take him more seriously as a contender.

Gunther and Gable are the best things about RAW, it annoys the hell out of me that the title match has been moved off of PayBack and will be back Next week on RAW. Now that Gable is being serious we can what he can really do. Gunther continues to be the best IC champion in history and overall the best character and gimmick around. Gunther getting his first defeat by count-out doesn't hurt him ether as it's been nearly 500 days since he was beaten and he still hasn't been pinned.

Typical Triple H booking. If you do look at the way he booked NXT, you will find out that he sometime booked a title match on TV taping so not all of the title will be defended on PLE, hell HBK also use this method when booking NXT so I wouldn't be to annoyed because I watch NXT Black and Gold and saw how Triple H sometimes book NXT

Alpha Academy is super over being exactly who they are, so of course Jim wants them to drop all the shit they're doing and become more "serious". Comedic or serious you're still just watching people compete in a predetermined sport.

Other than Sheamus, (and now Gable) Gunther haven't had many feuds while IC champion. One of my biggest complaints of Gunther's title reign. Great matches, but very little effort put in to make his title reign memorable or to give him any type of character development.

I think this is how you turn Gunther face. These matches feel very much like Jeff vs Taker ladder match. Jeff loses but is still standing and gets that respect rub from taker. Gable either wins the belt or loses another hard fought match and wins Gunther’s respect. I think moving Gunther over with Alpha Academy would be great tv. He’s working on getting them to be more serious and they work on getting him to be just a smidge less serious outside the ring. But in the end Gunther better be wrestling for the World Title at Mania.

To the surprise of no one, Corny books a better return match than i’m sure their staff of writers will. Given how close Gunther is to the single reign record, I’d have him come out next week and say something along the lines of “I’m going to celebrate beating a record held by a cowardly joke by beating another one. Gable i’m not going to beat you once, i’m going to beat you twice. After this, you can kiss ever getting another shot at me goodbye” etc. Set up a 2/3 falls match for the main event. Gunther dominates the first fall, but can’t restrain his temper and brutalises Gable and is DQ’d, 1-1, but has left Chad for dead. I’d have Gable cinch up a cradle and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Even if Gunther gets a rematch down the line and takes it back, you’ve made Gable a long time rival you can go back to down the line, with him always being able to say that he robbed Gunther of the record and proved he was beatable

This could work great for a Cody vs Gunther feud in a short time. Hear me out... Imperium attacks Gable so bad he's hurt, Cody walks by and jumps in to stop it and tells Gunther a real IC champion doesn't do this. Cody challenges Gunther to a match at Survivor Series, Gable returns and challenges Cody for the belt he never lost. Cody and Gable have a tremendous match where Gable wins. Cody enters the rumble and wins to challenge Roman at Wrestlemania and wins.

tbh that phony gimmick tag team with dozovic that shouldn't have worked, somehow did elevate him. also the addition of maxxine (who is canonically la knight's sister so they could have something cool there!) was a genuinely good story. the way the stable helped her "become a wrestler" worked really well imo. it'd be nice if they get a bigger push than "only" a tag team championship run

Gable needs to lose the next match then win their final match. He currently holds a victory over every member of Imperium and the fans want this push for Gable. For Gunther, he loses the title and Imperium tries to turn on him. So Gunther comes out and beats both members and re-establishes his dominance over them.
