He sold it so well people called the state police and sheriffs on him to have him arrested for child endangerment and spousal abuse for wife and kids who were not his. You can tell Dr. D in the promo he seems uncomfortable being the abusive husband and father. Their some points where the kid and the wife was chuckling and had to just focus on him in shots. Mind you it was all Vinces idea for that promo which probably showed that their was something wrong with Vince McMahon

This is the best interview with a wrestler I've ever heard. I remember watching that special (i believe it was 20/20) as a child when Dr. D slapped John Stossle. He had it coming. That bounty hunter story Schultz told about the guy lying dead with the needle in his arm and him telling the female reporter to give him mouth to mouth and see if he's alive had me crying real tears with laughter 🤣😂😂. I will definitely be buying his book.

I can see why Dr. D told the News reporter to give mouth to mouth on overdosed junkie. Because he hated the media after Stossel painted him in such a negative light. Cost Dr. D Wrestle-mania which he would have made alot money fighting hogan. I give Dr. D credit for never turning on wrestling unlike Mansfield who gave stossel his fuel to pursue his expos'e on wrestling. The only thing I agree with Mansfield is how promoters treat their wrestlers heck Vince proved it was true.

Wrestling should always be a VIOLENT Battle between good and bad, he disrespected ALL the old school guys who bled, sweat and paid the price. We (ASW Frigate, pronouns, Pal) pulled into Roosevelt Roads at night, back in '74. I was allowed on the fo'c's'le to watch the approach and mooring process (first time I'd watched a ship come in from shipboard) and saw movement among the crates and bundles on the pier. Judging from the size and galumphing gait, I thought wallabys or kangaroos had escaped from a cage or something. As we got closer, I recognized them as fat rats. Big fat rats. Estimate? Bodies the size of a medium collie. The scariest part was no one freaking out about it. Business as usual.

When I was a 8 or 9, back in 1989 or 1990, my pops had a couple of trucker buddies over. One was David Schultz. I guess while they were hanging out, he broke a chair he was sitting in cuz of how big he is and how small the chair was. At the time, I didn't know of "Dr. D". I grew up in North Carolina, and all we had was Jim Crockett Promotions and the Apter mags. My pops is passed now, so i can't get much more details on the story. I know to most, not a big story....but still pretty cool to me. Lol.

Why aren't they're more like Schultz? Oh yeah, too many cosplay wanna garbage "wrestlers" would get their feelings hurt.

Mr Cornette I think you should start a Hall of fame, with your knowledge and experience, as well as all your connections, and with respect to the cauliflower ear club, I think yours would be respected more, because we would at least know that it wouldn't be corrupted by the undesirables that have ruined my favorite pastime, and maybe make the good Doctor part of the 1st ceremony

I'm a Journalist. And what John Stossel did was absolutely disgraceful to the profession of Journalism. When conducting an interview, you act professional and you take it seriously. Disrespecting and/or insulting someone's profession while interviewing them is unprofessional.

Actually it happened in UWF MidSouth when Ted DiBiase was the personification of evil there. He fought against Jim Duggan. And Duggan busted Dibiase's cast on a ringpost, revealing what the heel DiBiase claimed was a protective loaded glove. Hint: Be great to see Seth Rollins adopt that gimmick.B.W.
