As a Penn State fan I 100% support Coach Harbaugh on this. Franklin should be more focused on his team and his strategies. Maybe then we could be more competitive against great teams like this. Dont forget MI fans...you could always have worse 🤣

Yep. It was just a stupid bloody move by Penn State. It was a miracle that they were in the game at half time and the last thing a smart coach would've recognized is to not piss off the opponent. I'm glad that they got their arses handed over to them because they don't deserve any better.

To really see how dumb James Franklin’s comments are, watch the “end of game” video of the teams leaving the tunnel. At the end of the game, no problems at all. In fact, players from both teams are talking to each other very calmly. Coach Franklin, you’ve literally got tunnel vision. Focus on your team’s problems, not a little playground name calling that really didn’t get out of hand.

Although I'm a Michigan fan, I do agree with what James Franklin, Head Coach, Penn State, has said in regard to this issue: “The one tunnel is a problem. It’s a problem and has been. To me, we need to put a policy in place from a conference perspective in my mind that’s going to stop it. We’re not the first team to kind of get into a jawing match in the tunnel. For me, I want to focus on getting my team into the locker room and not jawing back and forth. I want my team to get in the locker room and their team to get in the locker room. All there has to be is a two-minute or minute buffer in between the two teams. This team is in before that team gets close and however we want to do it. But we're not the first team that's had issues like that." Makes sense. In regard to the tunnel skirmish, do we really know what happened? According to The Detroit News, "There is only one tunnel that allows access to Michigan Stadium and at halftime, the visitors, whose sideline is on that side of the field, enter the tunnel first. Game officials then enter next before the Michigan players and staff." With that in mind, Penn State's players and staff were supposed to enter the tunnel and get to their locker room first, followed by Game officials, followed by Michigan's players and staff. Did Game officials give Penn State's players and staff enough time to get through the tunnel and to their locker room, before allowing Michigan's players and staff to enter the tunnel? If Game officials did not give Penn State's players and staff ample time to get through the tunnel and to their locker room, before allowing Michigan's players and staff to enter the tunnel, then they are at fault. However, if Penn State's players and staff were lollygagging, taking too much time to get through the tunnel and to their locker room at the end of the first half, in an attempt to block Michigan's players and staff from entering the tunnel, and to prevent them from getting to their locker room for the purpose of confronting Michigan's players and provoking them, then Penn State is at fault, and James Franklin should be held accountable, because it's his responsibility to ensure that his team's players and staff follow protocol. The same goes for Jim Harbaugh, Head Coach, Michigan. He is responsible for the behavior of his players and staff, and for following protocol. Moreover, Harbaugh's calling Franklin the "ringleader" of the tunnel skirmish, and that he has "bigger fish to fry", is not constructive, and does not reflect well on him. I think those comments are disrespectful, dismissive, and passive-aggressive, which only add fuel to the fire. Why not collaborate and come up with a solution, rather than cast aspersions? On the flip side, James Franklin and his staff should have been behind their players, ushering them through the tunnel and into their locker room, with Game officials right behind, which would have prevented any confrontations between the two teams. I'd like to get an explanation from James Franklin and Game officials as to why that didn't happen, and how they let things get out of control. Ultimately, Game officials at Michigan Stadium are supposed to act as a buffer between the visiting team and the home team. Why did they allow Penn State players and Michigan players to clash? I'd like to know their side of the story. Clearly, Michigan Stadium tunnel and locker room entry and exit procedures must be spelled out, established, and adhered to, in order to prevent this sort of thing from happening again. Whatever the case, I do believe that having only one tunnel that is shared between the home team and visiting team is a problem. Could it be that difficult to build a new tunnel and locker room on the other side of Michigan Stadium for the home team? That would be the best solution, in my opinion, if possible.
@tonyschmittou88452 жыл бұрын
No its not a problem. Its been around for 100+ years. Only time its a problem when the other team makes it one. Just walk into the locker room and shut up .Thats all it takes.
@chizzle52352 жыл бұрын
This whole reply is absolute nonsense. The one tunnel is not a problem, this isn’t a new stadium. It’s been that way for years. Why did Penn State have such an issue but 4 other teams this year didn’t? Or any other year? Typically, the only issues in the tunnel are from rivals… Ohio/Michigan have gotten heated in the tunnel in the past, why wasn’t it an issue then? Why now? There’s video of the tunnel, it shows Franklin at the tail end of his team going into the locker room. He’s arguing with a Michigan coach instead of telling his players to go into the locker room. It’s not that hard to figure out. I’d also just like to point out that the referees going in between the teams doesn’t mean a whole lot. You can’t honestly expect about 10 guys to control over 200, that’s what the coaches are supposed to do. Franklin needed to get his team under control, he failed to do that. Also failed to produce anything slightly resembling a football team that day, but he chose to divert attention away from his mediocre coaching job and instead focus on a non-issue at Michigan stadium. Also, please don’t call yourself a Michigan fan and in the same paragraph suggest they make any changes to the stadium. The only acceptable idea for a change at Michigan Stadium is to increase the number of fans it holds, or more night game Maize outs. No more of this reconstructing to build a second visitors tunnel. That’s just crazy talk bro.

@wolverinesfan90212 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not, all they had to do was go into their locker room. It's never been an issue going back to 1926. But nearly 100 years later James Franklin sees an issue with the tunnel? lol Don't call yourself a Michigan fan and then present an adolescent argument as to why Michigan stadium needs to be altered to better suit James Franklin's ego. Yost is rolling over in his grave right now.
