That actually happened to me when my dad died. It was just after his funeral, I was tired after all the hullabaloo. Took some time alone in my room, laying in bed I came across the king George video, I laughed my ass off then the realisation of just having buried my dad set in and I started crying but the video was on a loop so I was laughing and crying. Took me a few minutes to compose myself, then I remembered dad's sense of humour and he probably would've found that bit hilarious and I started up again.

I always found it weird how Horrible Histories is a genuinely great sketch show that just coincidentally has this "kids show" wrapper on it.
@oliviadaly4795 Жыл бұрын
It's v likely bc they picked comedians/Edinburgh Fringe fest people who are funny (Ben has a Perrier Award for Best Newcomer from the 90s and Mat trained as an actual clown with Phillippe Gaulier who trained people like Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter & Emma Thompson) rather than kids TV people who may or may not have been funny.

verb THEATRICAL SLANG gerund or present participle: corpsing spoil a piece of acting by forgetting one's lines or laughing uncontrollably. "Peter just can't stop himself corpsing when he is on stage" cause (an actor) to forget their lines and start laughing. "one singer ad libbed and corpsed his colleagues on stage"

Thanks for the definition! Any idea how it came to be in use, considering the fact that uncontrollable laughter is the last thing a corpse should be doing? 🤣
@PredaConvoy3 жыл бұрын
@@tgbluewolf there's a couple of theories, the most likely being that when an actor played a corpse on stage there is a temptation to make them laugh, another theory suggests that corpsing (aka "breaking") literally kills the scene or the take.
