My god, luv this. Just as good as the way Nod sings this. What a voice Jim Lea has. Does anyone recall Nod singing Cum on Feel the Noise with an acoustic guitar on the TV series the Grimly’s?

From 1970 to the present day, there hasn't been a single day gone by that I haven't listened to a Slade song, slade was the Soundtrack to my Teenage years & my Youth , and touches my Soul everyday, thank you Jim for the Legacy you Boyze made with your Big Noize, your Talent is endless & Pure Genius, I just like the things you do, Don't you change the things you do "Keep On Rockin" 👍

Me too. That night in 73 when Noddys ugly mug screamed BABY BABY BABY! out of the telly on TOTP was a life changer. I had no real musical interests and as a 13 year old I listened to just about anything. Then BAM! I was hooked 😂 Never looked back and never will. Sweet, Sabbath, Priest, Maiden Ghost, Rammstein are my most favourite bands but above them all its Slade.

There certainly is a special connection. Can't understand why the Americans didn't get it. Yet they like some things as mediocre as Kiss?

Fantastic Jim. Why this wasn't a hit way back in the 90s, I'll never know. A lovely reworking of a beautiful piece of music. 👍
@fus149hammer59 ай бұрын
Simple answer. It was released for the Christmas market in 91 and as we know the media is only interested in one Slade Christmas song. The band have stated that they were invited to do the usual round of Xmas tv shows but even telling the producers that they have a new single out the reply was if you want to appear you have to mime to MXE we aren't interested in anything new.

Nearly all the later material was by Jim in the studio himself. Jim literally recorded TAKS, YBMBN and RG on his own and the rest just added their parts later. He was the real power in the band but doesn't get the credit he's due.

As good a song as any you care to mention - as good as anyone. Should be a massive hit but sadly the whole music industry has gone to hell in a hand basket and top quality songwriting like this is no longer valued. What a crying shame. Still those who get it get it and know what a quality piece of writing it is. Well done.
