You are amazing! Thanks for sharing this. To me it looks like (at 10:55) your neck vertebrae lift up about the time you leave left arm parallel (on the way down). Even though you maintain your tuch line pretty well, that neck shows you stand up a little, just leaning back. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more of your series!

So if you swing to the left it goes right. But if you swing to the right you will hit a draw. Shouldn't we all be able to hit a draw by exploring the path and do you think a draw swing is bad?

Hi Christo I believe that Jim Maclean was the first to coin the X factor. Correct? Did he speak about its usefulness to you? Once in my golf posture bending from my hips and slightly flexing my knees to me the X factor proved that the correct rotating of buttocks and hips are the ‘secret behind’ many great golfers swing. Pun intended. Simply put: For the backswing the trail side buttock attached to the trail side hip must rotate together against the lead side buttocks and hip; and then for the downswing and the lead side buttock attached to the lead side hip must rotate inward against the trail side buttock and hip. That it! You do this and believe me all the dominoes will magically fall into place as you swing your club back and down This is real and not a feel. Cheers 😃❤️👍⛳️🥂

Wasn’t the X factor something Jim kind of backtracked on? all that twisting and shearing of the spine….no good.
@thomasfraser9072
@thomasfraser9072 Жыл бұрын
@@maeu59 if you bend from the hips and do not arch your back I find the X factor of the lower body leading the upper body works just fine. I agree with you: that without the proper bending of the body twisting the body can result in significant pain and possible injury to the spine. Will have to see and wait in a few days on MSE TV what Jim M actually says about his X factor theory. Cheers
@maeu59
@maeu59 Жыл бұрын
@@thomasfraser9072 the X factor and lower body spin is old school teaching that has ruined so many golfers, it just leads to back, hip and knee problems, like many of these young pros have nowadays, most who grew up idolizing Tiger, and just look at Tiger now. Maybe it started with Hogans five lessons where he has the band around his left hip snapping it back. (That book should’ve really been called How to not hit a Hook) Guys like McLean grew up with that and have been teaching this stuff for years. Body spin and hard rotation can work for the young kids but takes its toll. Speed is created mostly with the arms and hands. Yes your body needs to use the ground by getting out of the way but not with aggressive spinning or any X factor. If you’re interested on how to hit a ball without all this lower body spin nonsense go check out Mike Malaska, or better yet Marcus Edblad, especially his latest video circle of speed, and all the rest, he’s a real eye opener.

@@maeu59 I just looked at a new presentation of Jim Maclean talking specifically about his X factor and the 4 power point of the backswing to produce maximum speed. He said they are knees, hips, shoulders and head. Essentially he said the shoulders turn more then the hip and the hips turn more then the knees. But then he said the knees don’t actually turn in a backswing. He said the head moves to the right and then in multiple directions through out the swing. I think none of the hour lecture was very helpful to anyone because everything he said was based on professional golfers amazing amount of degrees they can turn their shoulders and hips during the golf swing. Personally I always saw the X factor as something different then Jim described’ for example he mentioned nothing about the lower body propelling then decelerating the upper body both in the backswing and the the downswing Jim M also coined the y factor. He said it was OK And yes I have seen the two instructors on You Tube over the years; most recently Marcus using the power of the trail hand and so forth. They are good as you say they are. But today my only focus on my swing is settings up in the proper golf posture and using the power of my behind ( buttocks) to execute my swing. Christina Ricci speaks of this a lot on You Tube. Her butt against the wall drill is fantastic! This one swing thought works perfectly for me . Cheers

Not every shot requires you to swing left, maybe a fade, but the swing is an angular circle and depending on what kind of shot you want to hit you direct the circle.

Hi again Christo . Looking forward to watching your new video on MSE TV. As I said before your swing evolution seems to parallel mine; except you are a much younger and better golfer then I. The Butt Move in golf is the ultimate and in my opinion should be front and center in every golfers mind. The fact is that everyone tush needs adjusting. Even Tiger Woods 4 years ago said needed to consciously reactivate his gluts. I call it; The Gluteal Maximus Golf Swing. You can use it if you like. Also did Jim tell you that Sam Snead did the Butt move in golf? kzbin.info/www/bejne/fH7HmIGLbKeFoq8

You guys need to stop living in the past AND stop conning the public with ‘facts’ which, yes, applied to BH but have no relevance with the majority of golfers. BH fought a hook his whole early life so CHANGED HIS SWING/grip accordingly. He also worked incredibly hard to make his swing work FOR HIM. Stop marketing your nonsense off this great man…market successful methods NOT ONE MAN’S SWING…and above all PROVIDE DATA WHICH SHOWS YOUR SUGGESTIONS WORK…or stop giving us BS.

I started playing at 35 bought Hogan's books and Bobby jones . When i started i was terrible, couldn't break 100 on a good course with instructions from their books and film i now have a 3.5 ,i have walked on golf courses ive never seen before and scored in the 70s with avg putting. What ive seen on utube is bits and pieces from different ideas which i wouldn't want to follow. I'm sure they work but I'd follow only the ones that teach the same. Many ways to play golf. If anything he is promoting the memories of those past great players and hope he continues his journey.

@@ag358amen! My story as well! Read sooo many books over years, and watched so many tutorials, but none catapulted me from the 90s to the 70s more than Hogan's books. Particularly his Five Lessons. As a result i firmly believe it is the gold standard of golf instruction! And consequently and humbly speaking lost lots of admiration for tour players, bc it is really sooo much easier to flush it all day long than I ever imagined!
