After reading a few well-written bios, Jim could be the most brutish, drunk individual around, or a humble, caring gentleman. The sad part is his crazy side was more widely recognized and distinguished. His intelligence and thoughts on life are something to always remember, a true poet and philosopher was Jim Morrison.

There is a story that John Densmore tells of the time Jim asked him "if he thought the Doors would even make it." john replied, "why not?" Then Morrison flipped a coin in the air and said to John "call it" John said "heads." Jim Jim caught the coin, popped it in his mouth and swallowed it, John said: "well when it come out just let me know what it was."

Jim has such a sense of humour. He looks back at the other guys when him and the priest walk off ..and says ..if I am not back in 5 ...he genuinely tried to connect with the priest even though you can tell he has a different opinion on religion.. You can see he is a very open respectful guy and allowed the priest to express his ideas. He is nOthing like Oliver Stone movie potrays. THat was just his rock star persona...he helped create it ...but it wasn't him. I hope one day a much better movie is done about him and the Doors ..his words..thoughts ..intelligence..self awareness ...humour. Everything Oliver Stone missed...and I do like Oliver Stone's movies. NOt sure why he did it this way. Maybe he can have redemption and do another one?
@jamesbond46336 жыл бұрын
Be. Wise Yes .but thoughtful things find a way of lasting ...Jim's thoughts and words will live on as people discover more and more what he was really about and trying to express. He is a door literally ....to Rimbaud ..Kerouac ..Nietzche ...but his own person too and thoughts. He was of his time but beyond it. That is what I am discovering about him. He didn't have all the answers..he had lots of questions ....and he tore down alot of myths. He tore down his own myth in Miami. Maybe he was drinking but it wasn't without thought what he did. He knew exactly what he was doing with that audience that night. He had to move on. He was too smart and intelligent to stay in the lizard king role. It was over. The media game was over. He enjoyed it ...but he was on to other things. I think he really wanted to get into movie production and films. And his poetry. He would have been brilliant I believe. Very insightful person.

I finally found your post again -SO sorry for the delay. This pastor says he's "really appreciating" exactly what Jim is doing here (meaning the concert's content) which shows me that he is in tune with Jim's purpose and goal to reach out to all and show God's existence in all things, through his poems, musical lyrics and stage theatrical presence. This pastor seems in awe of Jim, at his young age, preaching the word of God to all, in a new, fresh, and youthful way. This pastor is not talking down to Jim, but having an intelligent conversation about God, disciples and religious faith; Jim understands and offers his input, which the pastor clearly knows is true. I truly believe God sends certain people here to earth at certain times to speak to people in a way they will understand and grasp, and in sending Jim Morrison, God was able to be embraced by young people listening to Jim. What do you think ? Peace, Kim
