After reading a few well-written bios, Jim could be the most brutish, drunk individual around, or a humble, caring gentleman. The sad part is his crazy side was more widely recognized and distinguished. His intelligence and thoughts on life are something to always remember, a true poet and philosopher was Jim Morrison.

Watching the new Feast of Friends Documentary, you can see a whole lot of Jim's compassionate side, I was so amazed and happy to see that. It's pretty awesome, you can practically see the kid within him still. Definitely worth buying.

There is a story that John Densmore tells of the time Jim asked him "if he thought the Doors would even make it." john replied, "why not?" Then Morrison flipped a coin in the air and said to John "call it" John said "heads." Jim Jim caught the coin, popped it in his mouth and swallowed it, John said: "well when it come out just let me know what it was."

Fred L. Stiegemeier, known primarily as "minster at large" in the movie "Feast of Friends," a biographical film about the 1960s American rock and roll band, the Doors, was born September 5, 1923. He was a 1952 graduate of the Eden Theological Seminary in Webster Groves, Missouri. He died on June 10, 2001 in Frederick, Maryland at the age of 77.

Jim has such a sense of humour. He looks back at the other guys when him and the priest walk off ..and says ..if I am not back in 5 ...he genuinely tried to connect with the priest even though you can tell he has a different opinion on religion.. You can see he is a very open respectful guy and allowed the priest to express his ideas. He is nOthing like Oliver Stone movie potrays. THat was just his rock star persona...he helped create it ...but it wasn't him. I hope one day a much better movie is done about him and the Doors ..his words..thoughts ..intelligence..self awareness ...humour. Everything Oliver Stone missed...and I do like Oliver Stone's movies. NOt sure why he did it this way. Maybe he can have redemption and do another one?
@jamesbond4633
@jamesbond4633 6 жыл бұрын
Be. Wise Yes .but thoughtful things find a way of lasting ...Jim's thoughts and words will live on as people discover more and more what he was really about and trying to express. He is a door literally ....to Rimbaud ..Kerouac ..Nietzche ...but his own person too and thoughts. He was of his time but beyond it. That is what I am discovering about him. He didn't have all the answers..he had lots of questions ....and he tore down alot of myths. He tore down his own myth in Miami. Maybe he was drinking but it wasn't without thought what he did. He knew exactly what he was doing with that audience that night. He had to move on. He was too smart and intelligent to stay in the lizard king role. It was over. The media game was over. He enjoyed it ...but he was on to other things. I think he really wanted to get into movie production and films. And his poetry. He would have been brilliant I believe. Very insightful person.

I finally found your post again -SO sorry for the delay. This pastor says he's "really appreciating" exactly what Jim is doing here (meaning the concert's content) which shows me that he is in tune with Jim's purpose and goal to reach out to all and show God's existence in all things, through his poems, musical lyrics and stage theatrical presence. This pastor seems in awe of Jim, at his young age, preaching the word of God to all, in a new, fresh, and youthful way. This pastor is not talking down to Jim, but having an intelligent conversation about God, disciples and religious faith; Jim understands and offers his input, which the pastor clearly knows is true. I truly believe God sends certain people here to earth at certain times to speak to people in a way they will understand and grasp, and in sending Jim Morrison, God was able to be embraced by young people listening to Jim. What do you think ? Peace, Kim

hey listen man, listen....jim and his writings; his whole life was a metaphysical journey. like all artists he was a conduit for the divine. i find the conversation very natural although i'm not sure how much the preacher appreciated what the doors were doing. jim himself said in "feast of friends", "we live,we die and death not ends it. remember he studied the western world artists and classical works. he certainly read nietzsche but that doesn't mean he accepted that philosophy although he absolutely was drawn to exploring the dark side. but then according to hindu doctrine there is a right hand as well as a left hand path to god. as an aside it has been proposed that poets and bi-polar disorder are linked.....

Not being an ass, not drunk, just doing what he really enjoyed: communicating with another individual. Even one he might not see eye to eye with entirely. And vice-versa with the minister. Different time and place. If you look at many "typical-stereotype men" from the 50s/60's, you will see older men in suits, smoking pipes or fancy cigars. Smoking could be considered normal, even "classy" in some circles.

MAYBE THE MAN JUST DIDN'T LIKE RELIGION. MAYBE HE DIDN'T BELIEVE IN GOD. IF HE WASN'T RELIGIOUS THEN THERE WAS A FUCKING REASON FOR IT. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN RELIGIOUS IF HE WANTED TO BE.

ese señor no es pastor ...los pastores no fuman
@miapjo12
@miapjo12 2 жыл бұрын

I see Jim as just being polite to that guy in this video. At the time he gave two craps about what the guy had to say at the time. he was in his twenties. Famouse and had the world at his feet. Yep. He was blind too then. but for the nay sayers of christianity or ant religion. who claim. He is burning in hell. may i respectfully say. Perhaps like the bible says in revelation. I would that you would be either hot or cold for me. If he was cold and unbelieving. Well. Where does Jim lie now our bretheran of earth? just a thought ;)

James Bailey I rebuke you in Jesus name, the Bible says only fools do not believe in a God, you need to Repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, because without Jesus Christ you are lost, in Romans 10:9 it says "if you confess with your mouth and believe with your heart that Jesus is Lord and that he was raised from the dead to save your sins, then you shall be saved. You need to be born again, find a Holy Spirit church and be baptized

Not being an ass, not drunk, just doing what he really enjoyed: communicating with another individual. Even one he might not see eye to eye with entirely. And vice-versa with the minister. Yet...there they were. This is really deep, and connects on such a human level. We could use a lot of that today, September 2017. Nice upload!!!
