Crocket was a good guy. I never met him but thats true from everything I heard. Flair admits he was wrong when he left with the belt. Buddy Landel had serious issues. Suicidal thoughts and shit. When he said I'm the real nature boy he wasnt joking. Flair gives him credit even though Richard Flier says he lived the gimmick Buddy Landell suffered from it and died for real. It wasnt a joke for Buddy. Sad story.

@@sleazyfellow great if cartoony promo, average worker even by 70s standards. He walked and talked his gimmick which is why he was successful but I too think there is no way he's top 5. Arn was a better worker, Tully was a better worker.

@@josheisert8380 bizzare or bazaar? WTH you seem to be on drugs. You go all on a tangent about the earth being flat? Lol what the hell. I offered my opinion of flair and you said nothing in response essentially. Flair stole his gimmick from Rodgers, and his ring style from race. He's not a draw on par with those I mentioned. Let me get this straight. Ric Flair’s big answer to Dusty booking the baby face winning every night: Was going to the WWE/F?? 🤔
@seanabbins5481
@seanabbins5481 4 жыл бұрын
I see your point. I was thinking why would he think he would get booked any stronger in the WWF. As much as Dusty is criticized, for the most part, Flair was the world heavyweight champion during the overwhelming majority of Dusty's booking tenure. At that point, summer of 1988, there had not been a heel WWF champion since 1983. NWA champions like Harley Race and Terry Funk had been booked as mid-carders, which was the usual fate of medium-sized wrestlers there.
@yehudafinkelstein7504
@yehudafinkelstein7504 4 жыл бұрын
Even through the Monday Night Wars, the truism of WWF having a face champ and WCW a heel champ was generally correct. Michaels was a notable exception in 97-98. Goldberg winning as a face champ over heel Hogan finally changed the dynamic in WCW.

Yeah pretty much. It was unprofessional but I guess he got sick and tired of putting over jobbers then nobody wanting to put him over. I really don't know for sure. The big gold belt was pretty much tailor made for him. The horseman thing started taking off then shot to the moon. Ole flat out wouldn't sell the Dusty elbow after a while cause he hated it but he was on his way out. Arn didn't mind the finishes. Tully cared but kept professional. Then I think Flair had enough and said fuck it its my belt I'm leaving. To be honest though I think Dusty was gone when he left with it no? I know Flair said a fuck you but hey I still love ya type of thing. After you watch or read so many books you get a different story so I honestly dont know why or how it happened.
