Thanks for sharing! It's great to see the legend running UTMB!

Kilian won UTMB thrice, climbed Everest 2x in a week, won HardRock 100 for 4th time with a dislocated shoulder, etc, etc... Yet, he is still very humble. That's why people love him

I would find it really annoying someone always running along next to me
@Chris.E.3 жыл бұрын
It's over 100 mile race. Very little of the time is somebody a actually running alongside.

I think Jim Ran the race wrong, he went for the win by running at the front. Like Western States he treated it as a100k race. I like Jim and want to see him do well but his attitude does come across slightly obnoxious to some. I meant he was out of his depth with regard to taking the race to Francois and Kilian, maybe if he could learn to sit back more he could finally run a 100miler without having problems.
@DehMarf7 жыл бұрын
What's more obnoxious than Jim is someone who has no credible background in running at a professional level trying to critique a top 10 finisher in a race with a lot of talent.

I'm entitled to my opinion! It's perfectly acceptable to crictic footballers and other sportsman who operate at higher level than ourselves.

Skankydoodles420 Chill out. Everybody is criticizing Trump. Are you saying only presidents or vice presidents can criticize Trump?
@DehMarf7 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree that statement. That also applies to my opinion of you my dude.

People can criticize who they want for whatever reason, I never said anything to imply otherwise. It's as I said in my first comment.

Shame you missed him having a sleep, bonking, having another sleep, moaning about his feet and generally being out of his depth ( although I'll give him credit for actually finishing and not getting lost!).

He came 5th in what is widely regarded as the most competitive field in men's ultra running, ever. How can you possibly argue that he was out of his depth?
@erikalfredemery25377 жыл бұрын
I think he was out of his depth by going for the win straight from the front and trying to take the race to Francois and Kilian. He has yet to prove himself at 100miles and always runs them as a 100k race. Maybe if he learns to sit back he can have the results that match his pre race expectations.
@alexritchie7 жыл бұрын
Keith Emery his pre race expectations for UTMB were to be in the top 5, so not sure what you're talking about here either.

True, missed a lot of the suffering for many of the racers! From what I observed Jim ran about as "conservative" as he felt comfortable. He definitely doesn't seem comfortable running 100 mile pace which for him would likely mean backing off quite a bit. His irunfar interview gives an excellent perspective on his attitude and mentality: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoOUZZyKdteerJY
