This is a cover, originally done by the Troggs

Actually, the original version was done in 1965 by a US band called The Wild Ones. Hardly nobody knows about it because it did not chart.

The Hendrix song to check out, considered the best by Satriani, Vai, and others, is "Machine Gun" by the Band Of Gypsys - New Year's Eve 1969/70 at the Fillmore East (The one on the original Band Of Gypsys album). Before "Wild Thing" (By The Troggs), Jimi and The Who had flipped a coin to see who would play last. Hendrix won the toss, but then The Who ended their set by smashing their instruments - so this was Jimi's response. Also at this concert, Hendrix did a cover of Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone", and "Hey Joe", where he played with his teeth and behind his head.

@@JoneRuiz Couldn't agree more with Ray, actually I came here to say the same thing - i suggest you listen to Machine Gun on the 1st Jan 1970 live at Fillmore East (1st show). Some of his other work, that is along my favorites, are e. g. Johnny B. Goode live at Berkeley on the 30th May 1970, Power to Love live at Fillmore East on the 1st Jan 1970 second show or the dirty, haunting, angry, raw version of Machine Gun (i suggest to listen to at least the first 9 minutes) performed at the Isle of Wight on the 31st August 1970 (just 3 weeks before his passing), although some do not consider it "great" because of technical difficulties. This one is one of my favorite versions of Machine Gun out of all of them. Many people consider the version of Hear My Train A Comin' performed at Berkeley on the 30th May 1970 to be the superior version of that track (you already reacted to a Hear My Train acoustic version). Red House at Randall's Island, New York 1970 is an amazing rendition. From 1968 I can recommend (e. g.) the Olympic Studios version of Bold as Love (purple box set). From 1969 I propose (for example) a very psychedelic variation of Spanish Castle Magic live at Stockholm, which was recorded and a HD video is on youtube. Cheers to anyone discovering Hendrix. These tracks are some of my personal favorite highlights of his. Im not presenting anything written here to be a "best" of anything. Just dig the sounds. It's all freedom. Viktor ### Jimi forever ***

Three letters LSD, that's why the crowd was mellow 😅

So there's a disconnect here between the video of the crowd vs. Jimi and the stage. Why is the crowd in daylight and Jimi not? Also they had a shot of Mama Cass who is possibly not even at this concert, but that one was probably her watching Janis Joplin.

This video was re-edited. All the crowd shots were from various times during the festival and inserted into this video.

There was a lot of editing in this the performance and the crowd were from two different times
