Yes it is, But it´s also a universal treassure. I´m from the south of spain and i really love british progressive rock from the seventies. Renaissance it´s one the best bands!

That's great ! Junks of "Prologue," "Running Hard," in "MR Pine!" According to the notes this line up lasted 11-70, Dec - 1970 ! John Wetton apparently was in the band the next year or 1972!

Wow. Especially after Michael Dunford's death, it is wonderful and uplifting to see this old footage featuring him, Binky, and the rest who held the group together in those days. There is probably no greater story in all of "pop" music. Thank you.

I always thought of Renaissance as a living thing and the three major line ups (including Illusion) were all just inspired workers, uncovering the music. Each put their own spin through their own talents but the source of all the music was the same ideal, and thus inspired by something lager than the individual parts. In short I always viewed every line up (including Illusion) as the same band - Renaissance.
@yeswolf14 жыл бұрын
Is ILLUSION on CD? (Not the second album by Renaissance -- the later one with Jane Relf) Got catalog info?

Note that the intro, up to ~2:20, was recycled later by the »classic« Renaissance for their song Running Hard from their 1974 Turn of the Cards album.

Makes a change from recycling the Russians I suppose. Although it might be a theme from one of the Russians! You can almost see Mick Dunford on the live bits thinking "when this lot have gone I'm gonna nick this bit..." Gawd, I love your videos, Mr Jim.
@MartintheGeordie8 жыл бұрын
you can definitely hear the influence of Michael Dunford in this. Although no Annie Haslam this is really the first song of the "new" Renaissance
@brinmoody8 жыл бұрын
Not to mention they reused this same tune in the later song, Running Hard, off the 1974 album Turn of the Cards.

Groovy isn't it! This is a great track, and I like this transitional version. It's archetypal English hippydom, isn't, and Mrs Tyler is a flash of USA glamour in some field outside Luton (or wherever!) Fantastic.

THANKS JIM !!!!!
