The Miami Heat already turned the page from Jimmy. They were willing to let him play out his option year even if he would no longer be the focus of the team. Right now, they need to focus on developing Tyler, Bam, and all of the other young guys. Our biggest asset is the cap flexibility when Jimmy's contract expires.

There is no point in heat trading him if they can’t find a adequate return. They should avoid trading with the suns. Taking over that Beal contract would be horrible for team building plus Beal is on the worst contract in the nba. The heat basically need to ride this out ,if they can’t get a fair return. Jimmy definitely will not opt in his player option in the summer , therefore if he is given the pj tucker treatment and cast away from the squad for the remainder of the season then It could damage his reputation and put him at risk of not getting the contract that he wants in summer. Miami need to rebuild this side with youth and play chess not checkers with butler. One thing for sure is that he is not resigning with the heat under any circumstance.

I have tried to make many Butler trades. The grizzlies had one of the easiest paths to get it done. Even then, most teams he doesnt make sense on. Whether it is teams wanting to tank. Them not having contracts to make it work. 2nd apron restrictions. Or teams already having wings they dont want to move off of. Teams he is 100% not going to: Grizzlies (latest news) Timberwolves (played for them already, 2nd apron trade restrictions, Gobert not tradable till offseason) 76ers (played for them already) Celtics (for obvious reasons) Wizards (tanking) Knicks (Trade Towns or rest of their depth like OG or Bridges plus others? Nope) Thunder (why would they aggregate their entire roster for one old guy?)
