You know - for everything Dale jr has endured in his life - he turned out to be a huge success. Pressures of successful racing, losing his Dad, changing race teams bc of his Dad’s wife, changing number and brands, not pulling off a championship. A lot of things that could have sent anyone in the wrong direction. If he has really led a clean life - hats off to him- he is going to be a legend!!

Melinda Virosteck He is a famous, now retired NASCAR driver. He will now be an announcer for part of the season. His dad, Dale Earnhardt was one of the most amazing and skilled race car drivers ever. They called him The Imitator. He was killed in the Daytona 500 in 2001. I have been watching NASCAR for about 30 yrs and Sr. was my absolute favorite!

Since when what? Dale Earnhardt Jr. had been driving with Hendrick since he left DEI and his wicked stepmother Teresa behind 6 years after his dad died. His brother Kerry later left DEI too. Dale Jr retired from active racing this season and is busy being a husband and dad. Junior co-owns JRM with his sister Kelley, and their mom Brenda works there with them. So … what has "Theresa" got to do with anything in NASCAR?

retnavybrat well being a professional driver does bring quite the advantage as in the straight segment they are basically dead even but Jimmy totally botched the u turn and by the time he was out of the corner Dale was up to speed making for a huge gap..... can’t believe I just analyzed this.
