I miss video stores. There was something special about looking at the physical copies and reading the back. See that they had like 200 copies of the same movie that was new, you knew it was a good one. Much like CD's and more so vinyl. I like holding the piece of art

I'm at Vulcan at least once a week. There are so many thousands of films that I would never have access to in any other medium - lots of stuff that's not even on torrent sites. The people who are so upset about video stores existing are like people who traded their Mercedes for a dirt bike and are desperately trying to convince themselves that they made the right choice.

It's great that Vulcan is getting a lot of business now but it won't last. 10-20years down the road, just like floppy disks and VHS tapes/players, CDs will probably become obsolete. My macbook air doesn't even come with a CD slot :/

Half the people on cable news think that America will have suffered absolute financial collapse by that point, in which case our computers, DVDs and CDs will be the least of our concerns. And if you're right, if Vulcan can only spend another 10 - 20 years bringing something great to their community, that's certainly more than can be said for most businesses (or people).

See, I liked video stores. I mean, it took me a long time to get use to DVD. But I hate streaming, cause they never seem to have the movies I want. I also hate ordering online cause I can never tell whether I'm buying the right one, I like to hold the DVD in my hand an examine it, not to mention, Amazon doesn't list the special features to old DVDs despite the fact they have them.
