Saperavi is one of my favourite red wines. And you're right Jimmy, even at the entry level these are usually fabulous, interesting wines, great with food.

Saperavi is definitely not a late ripening variety. in fact, none of the Kakhetian varieties are, because summers are extremely short. technically speaking even in context of Kakheti, Saperavi is a mid ripening variety.

Saperavi is late ripening in reference to Chasselas which is the traditional Western way of judging grape ripeness. But of course this would be different in Georgia

Never tasted. The only think I know about Georgia is that they are the one to introduce amphora 🏺 great video Thanks a lot
