HI, We are now 75 and 80 years old respectively. In 1968 we bought a 1958 V.W. transporter Van for $400. and spent less than $25. remodeling it. Called it" la Tortuga." Took off from Phoenix to see America on $400. which lasted 2 months and $150. in V.W. repair and boondocked and fixed our own meals. We have photos if you ever want to see them. Used telephone booths to get a teaching job in Page, Arizona for the 1968-69 school year! We did not know about Antelope slot canyons or Horseshoe Bend in 1968. You remind us when we we're your age just 54 years ago! Wish we could talk to you about shared adventures. Amy and Larry.

So, I thought I would share a story with you guys. The wife and I were trying to think what to watch for our nightly viewing pleasure. Currently, we're watching the entire Seinfeld series because she has never seen them all. But last night as I was queuing up an episode of Seinfeld we both said "Jimmy and Natalie have a new one out" So there you have it, you two beat out the greatest TV series ever made! Thought you should know!

Those lines at Lake Mead are where the water is supposed to be to sustain our lives in the desert. The water is so low because of a severe drought. It began in Arizona in the mid to late 1990s. I moved here in the summer of 1998 and it was well underway then. So I'd say mid 90s is closer to it. It's so low that, without more precipitation, it will be empty in just a few years. It serves 4 states, 2 of them agricultural.

Most clean cut couple on KZbin, highly likable. I loved your video of the Virginia Creeper Trail on traditional bicycles. Then you switched to the dark side and began to ride e-bikes. I know, you still get plenty of exercise and they were free so you can’t beat it. At 67 I am still pulling century rides on a regular bike. My concern is that you are taking too many risks and I hope you are skilled at fixing a flat on an e-bike. You two are the best, please be safe!

When I lived in AZ and NM I carried my own shade. One size too big white shirt from 2nd hand store. You can turn the collar up to cover your neck. That combined with a lightweight floppy hat and you're well covered. It's a bit counterintuitive to wear long sleeves, but it actually works great.

I visited Horseshoe Bend in the early 2000’s, a ranger I worked with at the Grand Canyon lived in Page and she told me how to find it. You watch for the P on the rock face and then watched for the dirt road on the left. There was two other vehicles and I saw two other people for sunset. I wish I knew that you were going to Page. I know a Navajo that lives in Cameron that works for a guide company and he does tours of the area. 🙁

I started watching your build series videos for ideas for my upcoming shuttle bus conversion, but these travel videos of yours have gotten me hooked on your channel. Great content! I hope you two can make it out to Buckskin Gulch while you're in northern Arizona! It's a super gorgeous slot canyon that I highly recommend! It's right next to the infamous wave. Only requires a walk-up/drive-up permit and the crowds dissipate once you hike about a mile in.

Relax and enjoy the journey. Tourist spots are exactly what you imagine -worth it but busy. You can always come back, also. I employ the ‘500 yard rule’ in the UK - almost all tourist spots improve once you get more than 500 yards from the car park, as that seems to be the limit for most day trippers! Your bus is fab and you are so fortunate to be doing this so young! Savour it and don’t sweat the ‘instagram’ stuff - you are the most important people to each other, and that still comes through in your vlogs. Keep it up - very natural and watchable/relatable - love the channel!

I did Horseshoe Bend a couple years back. I was told to get there for sunrise so I drove VERY early from Williams to get there. I and maybe four other people were there. Beautiful. Plus I paid nothing to get in and did walk over that hill you weren't allowed to walk over. Honestly coming up to the end of the cliff got to me! I can see how people get a vertigo looking over.. great video. Be safe.

- Az does not spring ahead. so no DST. However the Navaho res, nearby, does spring ahead. - When Powell was full pool, the natural arch was accessible by water. - Once you leave the area there is not much to see until the West entrance to Zion. Note the number of rabbit road kill along the way. -I have driven every route to I -15 all the way up past I - 70... Zion is the best but the 89 through Panquich is less busy and scenic. Moab has a lot to see too...

My first trip to Horseshoe Bend, aka "Instagram Point", was when the parking area held about 10 cars on the south side of the dirt road turnoff, and 2 RVs or buses on the north side of the dirt road. And yes, you walked up over the dune on that path they have blocked now. I hope you found the Toadstools and did that short hike to ET Rock. There is an Upper Antelope Canyon on the south side of the road, and a Lower Antelope Canyon on the north side of the road...did you try both? Once again, years ago we just arrived to a three sided plywood shelter and paid the Navajo Tariff Admission Fee and once about 10 people were there they lead the next tour. Looks like they have gone full in on commercialization now. Where to from Page?...up Hwy 89 towards Coral Pink Sand dunes, Zion and Bryce, and Capitol Reef? Or over to Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, the Moki Dugway, Natural Bridges, Canyonlands, and Arches?

We aren't exactly sure where we're going, but you've listed a lot of options that are on our radar. 😄 We've been doing broad research about what exists, and then following our gut with whatever seems the best in the moment. That being said, we'll probably spend at least a few weeks in Utah, so hopefully we'll be able to see a lot of the main attractions! 😊

I highly recommend going to Boulder Utah and doing the Burr trail in your schoolie. I saw a full-size motorhome do it last week going down. It leads into the east side of Capitol Reef National Park. Headquarters canyon is a nice little slot canyon and there are tons of amazing views and hikes from the east side.

Found this somewhere re The Chains: “The Chains is an area of Lake Powell where it abuts the Glen Canyon Dam. In fact there is literally a chain across the canyon to keep boats from getting too close to the dam, hence the name. “ Don’t know why “the chains” (plural) unless there is more than one chain. Interesting.. Your ventures out into the wilderness where nobody is around gives me the heebie jeebies. Be safe, as everybody says.

So glad to see you are enjoying the state I now call home. If you guys ever make it back down here there's I believe three different canyons antelope you can tour. ( I didn't go through all the comments to see if anyone else posted about this so my apologies if I'm repeating other statements made) Upper, lower and Canyon X. If not for you guys but for anyone on this channel I believe it's William Powell road You can find a bunch of different Jeep companies that run tours ( It's off site and you can't enter the land without the tour guide) unlike The lower canyon You order your tickets right there on site. Also I know at least the upper canyon allows photographer tours where you don't have as much limitations and not as many people on the tours It is more expensive but I'm sure worth it for the professional photographer. I usually advise people stopping at Glen canyon dam first doing a tour there and then working your way back and work your way to the Grand canyon. Kind of gives you A better appreciation starting there as that's where I believe the Colorado River begins. Keep up with these awesome videos and encouraging me to want to travel more. Safe travels!

We were just at Antelope Slot last Sept and did the lower section. A few years ago we did Upper Antelope. You should of asked to do Canyon X which is just a few miles out of town and it is never busy. We also did the Hanging Garden to the Moss Cave. It was just okay but not great.
