Even Red Bull was easily hitting 320kph on the straights. The simulator has way too little hp compared to the real thing. You are also quite a bit slower in the corners. Turn 5 you took with 2nd gear, while Bottas did it in 4th. Turn 6 you slowed down to 190kph and exited the corner at 230kph, while Kimi basically flew into the corner at 210kph, barely touched under 200kph for a fraction of a second and was already back to 250+kph by the time he straightened the car.
@darknez092405 жыл бұрын
wow so the real thing is even faster, that's crazy how f1 cars can take so much speed in a corner, almost like a train rail on road then with the amount of grip and downforce
@Dyrdeksk8r6 жыл бұрын
Do you think it's possible that these models lack the qualification mode that the real cars do? Jimmy seems to get close to the race lap record, or beat it, but never the qualifying.
@naufalkusumah21926 жыл бұрын
I think this mod was made based off the early spec car and the team have upgraded the real car over time and that shows how much improvement they make to the car since the beginning of the season
@Fignewton1176 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. I raced this track in F1 2017 and lapped in the 1:05. I know the cars have increased in speed since then and watching his line and gearing it all looks to be good.
@yazanalothman79086 жыл бұрын
I agree, also in qualy there are battery modes, ers, fuel mix, i think multiple things that makes it way faster. But yeah, mostly the mid season upgrades.

When you drive a real f1 car you get to feel the gs and everything, so don’t worry that your not a fast as them, cause ur not synced up to the car like the drivers are in real life. Force feed back will only help you so much

I would say that the car's pace is somewhere near this year's mclaren the mod's tyres are definitely not soft enough so i think that jimmer using the hypers is not actually cheating

A tip Jimmy to get a faster time, use "overtake button" to use up all the ERS. You can gain 5 or 6 tenths if you deploy ERS correctly (aka in the end of the straights or corner exit). Keep u the good content!

After this, Jimmer gonna try to break blessed boi pole in baguette asphalt
@RussellAutosport6 жыл бұрын
The hotlap ERS mode has a lot of lag. Idk why, but the balanced high mode seems to be more torquey in the low end. Might be worth a try to run with that and just use the manual deploy to use all the energy in the lap.

Another awesome video jimmers love these sort of videos yes its a mod your using, but just looks so darn realistic every time i watch it, love it jimmers keep up the great videos
@captainunderpants2006 жыл бұрын
Hardly an expert here, but I think you'll find more speed by coming into those low speed corners a bit slower. You tend to brake too late, which compromises your exit speed. Exit speed is far more important than entry speed.
@NeilCrossy6 жыл бұрын
Honestly bud try the ACFL mod. I've got a couple of videos of me side-by-side with the real pole laps and the ACFL car is alsmot identical in straight line and cornering speed to the real cars, to the second. I think the RSS car is a major handicap, I tried it first and it just wasn't right.
@stryker19926 жыл бұрын
seriously ? acfl mod ? come on boi !
@NeilCrossy6 жыл бұрын
I'm not seeing where you're coming from here, discuss. In fact, (I'm not interested in clicks as the videos aren't monetised) but go watch my Silverstone lap, observe the ACFL car closely across the full lap, and that's my presented tangible argument for it being serious. Plus, ACFL have FIA licensed skins for each car, each car is modelled to the team spec whereas RSS is 1 generic car model with image skins, the audio is taken from the real cars, it's a better package all round.
@CdH946 жыл бұрын
I drive both, prefer the ACFL mod to be honest. It doesn't have enough steering lock, and some of the sounds aren't so good, but it seems more accurate to me. Get over it buddy, RSS makes some of the most high-quality stuff available for Assetto Corsa, but the pace of their 2018 car just isn't there. If there's an update, I'll switch back to it over the ACFL, but for now, no.
@JFein6 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with Jamie and Ibrahim here. I just watched the Silverstone video you posted, and it’s really clear that the ACFL mod has much more grip than the real life counterpart. Whether that’s due to the tires or downforce, I don’t know, but the mod car sticks in a way that the real one just doesn’t. Lewis is on the limit, balancing the car with small dabs of oppo through almost every corner, while you barely have to fight the car or counter-steer at all... and you still beat his time. And no offense, but it’s not like you can explain that by saying that you just have better car control than Lewis Hamilton. Let’s be real, if given the same car and set of conditions, there’s no way you come close to Lewis’ qualifying time, much less beat it - even if you are sitting safely in a simulator while he’s out there risking it for real. On video, the laps look similar yes, but in the same way that F1 2017 videos look “similar” to the real thing. They’re both designed to allow you to drive like an F1 driver without actually having the full skillset of one. I do think the RSS mod lacks pace in a few key areas (like torque and downforce), which is then further exacerbated by how much the real cars have developed by this point in the season. But, in contrast to the ACFL mod, the RSS car has driving dynamics that look and feel much more consistent with the real life car, even if the mod has a bit less pace on a per lap basis. At the end of the day, I’d much prefer to watch a lap from a car that’s designed to make you *appreciate* the skill it takes to be an F1 driver, rather than from a car that’s designed around making you *feel* like you are one.
@CdH946 жыл бұрын
Give the ACFL a try at least, it's really not as easy to drive as it looks. That lap was still slower than IRL pole after hours of practice in MUCH cooler and better weather conditions (20C track temp vs 52C). Also check my throttle and brake inputs, I'm no where near as aggressive as Lewis was on the throttle, making up most of my time trail-braking since the ACFL does that well (maybe too well, or at least the default setup does). I'm not knocking the RSS but it's just way too slow I think, but I haven't done a side by side with equal practice to see where and how. I'm sure with an update to bring it to a sort of 'mid-season spec' would have me back using the RSS exclusively. If you want an example of an F1 mod with way too much grip, the FW26 by... I forget who, is one.

Pretty sure the car mod is inaccurate. The track is laser scanned so it’s not that and you’re driving the nuts off of the car so it’s not that either. The downforce and grip just isn’t there. Could be grip level of the track I guess

@JustActCoolKid6 жыл бұрын
Just because it's the official game, that doesn't mean the physics are realistic (or at least as realistic as Assetto Corsa's). You have to keep in mind AC is targeted at people who are really into the simulation side of racing, in contrast with the Codemasters games' more casual audience, therefore the physics in their games are a bit more arcady in order to make the gameplay more enjoyable for everyone
