Five years on - new rigs, new house, new girlfriend, driving real race cars. You’re doing great Jimmer! So proud.

You can choose between a yearly gym membership or this wheel. I'd take the wheel.

Great stuff! I'm really looking forward to all you top content with this new rig!

Dunno if you have already, but you would probably want to sit a bit closer so you can use your biceps more effectively on the wheel. You're putting a lot of strain on your shoulder now (like you mention in the video).

Yes don't be surprised if you hurt yourself with this wheel, given how much you drive (and how often you collide with the ai! lol) Just last week I sprained my thumb with mine. Still hurts. The pain keeps me from forgetting how great the OSW is.

Race an old car Jimmy! Like the Ford Escort RS1600 at Sementin in Assetto Corsa. It would be amazing! And fairly true to life, some of those oldies didn't have power assist steering and took real strength.
@davidporeilly17 жыл бұрын
Good stuff Jimmy. I have an OSW too but with a Formula wheel and the 20nm Mige. The smaller rim means I have less leverage so its stronger plus the rim is lighter so I run it at about 66% power and the in-game power at about the same (RF2). So the 20NM is MORE than enough for me. I will try the other posters comment about MMOS at 100% and dialling it down in game.

Holy crap that wheel looks huge on a sim rig.

you just need one missing piece now....VR. keep up the good content tho. p.s. as a fellow OSW user, the wheel shouldn't be completely throwing you out the seat on counter steer forces..... fiddle with some of the settings in granity. You also want to be running Mmos at 100%, if you didn't know already - and any gain adjustment should be in the sim, not in Mmos. I didn't realise this myself until recently.

Thanks for the info! I literally know nothing about setting this stuff up, so any tips are much appreciated
@Celciusify7 жыл бұрын
If you're getting a Vive, just follow the guide and the setup is done within like 15min. In Assetto corsa you tell the game to use the headset as a monitor, and then it's done. No idea how it works with other sims as I'm waiting for my rig to do a proper setup. Also a pair of heuskinkvelt pedals and an OSW :)
@Kint07 жыл бұрын
aliensimracer I would wait on VR. The next generation will be worth it. the resolution is too low imho. I get more enjoyment out of my triple screen setup.
@Kint07 жыл бұрын
Jimmy Broadbent Besides the low resolution of current VR, I'd also consider your current KZbin setup. We'd miss seeing your beautiful face. You'd have to record with a giant block on your head. I think a modest triple screen would suit you the most.
@Case_7 жыл бұрын
VR is just horrible to watch in a KZbin video, though.
@benjiesau14977 жыл бұрын
Hey you basically never need gloves in the gym. Barehanded it with chalk if needed for heavy deadlifts or something, you get better grip strength development and it's just more dexterous/less sloppy feeling. You do have to wash your hands though.

Rig is looking awesome Jimmy - have you decided what way you are going with your gear shifter !? It got one of these recently - very expensive but an awesome addition to moving your rig to PRO LEVEL !! Ascher Racing Buttonplace C20XL - Have my HE Pedals on order ;-) Also running the same OSW DD with MMOS settings, let me know if you need setups help etc.
@p0intdk7 жыл бұрын
You kinda have to brake in the pedals a bit, after stumping on mine a 100 times or so, now its no as stiff as it was in the beginning.
@p0intdk7 жыл бұрын
Also if you get a smaller wheel Jimmy, you have to put more strength into wheel since the size of the steering wheel is a bit like the length of a torque tube. So the longer tube is(Smaller dia. the wheel is) the easier it is to turn.

Is it really supposed to be that hard? Looks like your're driving without a servo. It's really not that much of a force in modern racing cars.

Not it's not, but I mentioned in the video that I cranked it up to 100% to show off the strength of the wheel. I'd never use it in actual races.

Olle börner if you didn't notice he's not using the clutch. this car isn't a h pattern shifting car. it's a race car with auto throttle blipping. literally no need to use the clutch.

Yes, although the real AM DBR9 need heel-toeing while downshifting (no need of using the clutch while switching to higher gears).
