Disagree with the fingertip trick. The difference in time you are saving is miniscule (if any time at all) by having only 1 fingerprint set up. I believe 99% will not be able to notice any difference. Mine is basically instant < 0.1s with 4 fingerprints set up so I really don't think this is saving you any time, instead it's far more likely to fail you more often because you have "less images" set up which if anything is going to take time and also be frustrating.

I just have my finger and thumb on each hand, that way it does not matter what hand I am holding my phone with. Usually, it does not matter because face is pretty fast.

From a privacy standpoint, it's recommended that only a pattern or code that you type in be used. Your image and fingerprints can be compelled by a court. What you keep inside your brain cannot be compelled.

While the tip part on the calculator is interesting, most restaurant's charge per person, so there is no way to split the costs unless you are ordering something off a menu.

How is that? That's how all fingerprint scanners work. You tap multiple times, creates a print out of scans and then unlocks if correct print is there.

Re fingerprint scanner. So, I shouldn't have individual profiles for 2 thumbs and 2 forefingers? The latter are useful if phone is lying on a table. Doesn't have more than one finger on a profile reduce the chance of recognising a given finger? I find the scanner really hit and miss. I do have a glass screen protector but have the "with screen protector" setting switched on in the scanner settings.

I'd like to see a mythbusting thing where you actually check if it takes longer to unlock the phone if you have more fingerprints scanned.

I've personally tested it and also saw documentation on how it's done back when I worked at Samsung. Each touch is a scan, an image it used to unlock. I runs through several images to find the one that matches to unlock. So if there's less scans to go through, it can unlock quicker with the right print.
